Hi here is a thread where you can chat bout the Torchwood TV series. I have lots to talk bout!!!! I DO NOT LIKE WHAT I HAVE JUST WITNESSED. Owen Harper, age 27 and torchwood officer 565, died with a bullet to the heart. He has been shot MILLLLLIONSS OF TIMES MAN. Bastard Mr. Copley and bastard Reset :@

Also if you watched Everything Changed and They Keep killing Susie, the next episode will make loadsssss of sense.

Back in They Keep Killing Susie...:

Ianto: I wouldn't be so sure...gloves did always come in pairs.

He was certainly right!!!!! jack finds the other glove but that is all I will say.

Too welsh for my liking and it confused me as to why nearly every character in it is bisexual or gay.

xenophobic and homophobic in one sentence. Way to go Herbz! :(

Im just about to watch ep7 in 10 mins :D Love my UK satellite TV...!! was great to see Martha again last week, and just cant to see Cathy Tate in DW4 :D

/me sweeps in with damage control!

I meant everyone in it seems to be copping off with everyone else, it's like a big orgy. As for the welsh thing I meant they are always in Cardiff. Doctor Who pulled that too many times as it was. I just thought it was odd. With all those exotic aliens, unlimited worlds, in any galaxy you'd think you would wanna be anywhere besides Cardiff.

It was explained pretty well though. The team are based in one place so to be near where the 'rift is' It makes Cardiff an intergalactic dumping ground, not exactly glamorous :D

John Barrowman(Jack) is a well known gay celebrity in the UK, Id have been more shocked if he played a straight dude. In an interview I saw once, he said he auditioned for "Greg" in Dharma & Greg, and got knocked back because he 'wasnt gay enough' They ended up going with a straight actor to play a gay character :p Aint Hollywood bonkers ??

ok....that is weird, how can a gay actor not be gay enough??? To be honest though I think he is a bysexual...the amount of women he has kissed/loved/had sex with is beyond me. Gwen from torchwood being one of em.

Yes indeedy Jacks character in TW ad DW seems to like men and women, though Barrowman himself is strictly gay, in fact is married to another chap(name escapes). I think not being "gay enough" for hollywood meant being too masculine, which Jack'/John can do pretty well.

One funny thing though is that Barrowman was born in Scotland IIRC and then went to live in the US, and can switch between an US and Scottish accent with no probs :p

From what I heard John was from Squartland :D. Moved to USA then back to my country I like to call england in london where he now does several BBC programmes such as TW, used-to-be doctor who, other stuff.

Btw I never knew John was married...when was this???

Oh and I like DW and TW and all but the prices on these DVD's are ridiculous. Just because they are popuar doesn't mean you have to sell a DW box set for £40. Even the oldest TW & DW both were still up to £20 when I last looked on Amazon. Oh and for the series 3 DW they were selling a box set at £110 just because it has one of those flashy box images going from "I am the master" to "Saxon is your man". The newest DW Xmas special is coming at £15. Then again that was basically a film...70 minutes.

That's enough from me! See ya! :)

P.S. What does IIRC stand for?

IIRC > If I Remember Correctly, add it to your vocab destroying netspeak!

Barrowman mentioned his marriage in a great interview I saw on 'The Charlotte Church Show', which you can see on YTube too. He showed a pic of his hubby and their dog, who recently passed away IIRC...!! (gosh, how easily I remember such trivial things!) :p

I loved the double episode they had... not too fussed about Owen meself. I hope they do more stuff about previous Torchwood members, either in DW, or TW. I'd especially like to see more about the first Torchwood that Queen Vic set up, and also how Jack came to be part of it, as he seems to have been stuck on earth since the 1890s??

Uh IIRC, Owen is gr8! :D Owen is now fully alive coz they did a 3-part episode. In the next one Gwen is pregnant wit an alien baby :) I actually recall jack being stuck on earth since 1890-1990ish. Because he was in WWI and WWII. The "first" Torchwood was indeed founded by Queen Vicky but I don't think we will get any more info. The institute was basically disbanded in the series 2 finale of DW because of the cybermen/daleks. Jack was actually there when the battle was being executed and when destroyed, he rebuilt a better Torchwood in the Doctor's honor. This is mentioned in "The Sound of Drums" IIRC.

^^know all that! But there have been references to Torchwoods of past and future, eg. in the episode about the WW1 soldier, and 'The Impossible Planet' in Dr Who.(ie. The Torchwood Archive) Im hoping we get to hear more, Im sure we will. I also wonder at what point Jack started to become the Face of Boe...

Owen is now fully alive

Id rethink that sentence...considering the last two episodes were called 'Dead Man Walking' and 'A Day In the Death' he's not **actually** alive is he :D

anyway, I hope they get on with other stuff, Im sick of seeing him mope about, the little twat!

In Dead Man Walking Jack brings Owen back with the second resurrection glove. Owen stays permanently alive as a host for death itself. Owen basically pwns down death. In A day in the death he finds absolution, is 100% human :) Oh and then Marha trods back to UNIT.

If anyone wants to see a breif for all the episodes apart from the last, highlight the following spoiler: BTW the Smething borrowed is a made up one as I found no official one.

Something Borrowed: It is Gwen and Rhys' wedding day and Gwen sees that she is pregnant with an alien baby! With a human-eating shape-shifter on the loose, the wedding day and the fact the alien's real mother is coming to rip her open, can Gwen handle it and get her and Rhys well away from danger? Will someone suffer terrible pain? Then 60 seconds.

Out of the Rain: When an old cinema re-opens, past horrors emerge to stalk the streets of Cardiff. As bodies are found, in a state between life and death, Torchwood must act fast. Who are the Night Travellers? And how can Torchwood capture these mysterious killers?

Adrift: When a local teenager disappears, Gwen is drawn into an investigation that reveals a darker side of Torchwood. Hundreds of people have disappeared without trace, but Jack is obstructing attempts to find them. The answer seems to lie in the rift – literally – and as Gwen follows the trail, she makes a shocking discovery.

I dont mind owen being a smartass, but he's a whiny one, which makes him annoying - like a petulant teenager. Even Jack, in "A Day In The Death" asked him how long his moping was going to go on for, because (almost) everyone is already starting to tire of it. I definitely have.

  • 4 weeks later...
 Speaking of torchwood...I actually missed Ianto's 'flashbak' onwards! Im watching BBCiplayer as we type. I do know about John (the guy who has his head stuck up his ass too much) to be honest tho I think he could of been a gr8 team member...he would of brought more funny scenes and actions in. James Marsters is pretty good...

Well, as you'll see at the end of Fragments, we haven't seen the last of him.
