God, I love skyboxes :p

I think its one of my favourite textures to create, as it sets the mood and atmosphere of an area, when its visible.

Not much to say: It just looks awesome! Man, if I ever get my own crazy projects released I think TSL might get a flood of new area mods

EDIT: I better start a WIP thread, instead of dropping little bombs here and there >_>

Ands stealing somebody glory...

some crits doc, if i may:

tone down the white (lighting?) on the skybox. it stands out too much. if it's going to be that bright, it needs a glowing effect around the edges. as it is it just looks like "white bits" as opposed to looking bright.

personally though, i'd tone them down a little rather than perfecting the glow effect. i think they're too much of a focal point in comparison to the rest of an excellent skybox.

the windows... is the skybox textured to them, or are they outside transparent polys? i ask because the skybox looks warped to match the conclave curve of the glazing, which doesn't quite look right.

That's an interesting idea. I'll consider toning down the brightness of the lights on the buildings, I think that is the white you are referring to. As for the windows, the skybox is actually textured to a skybox outside the interior, its not pasted on each individual window, this will be more clear once I make the video, which will also feature some air traffic as well, giving the area a bit more life to it.

Looking forward how you pulled that one of :)

If its an animated texture, I'm sure a great deal of work will have crept into that. I tried to make that sort of thing once and boy, to get a smooth look o_O

Or when its 3D I'll bug you endlessly. As so far I haven't got a working Placeable with a looping animation.

the art of Darth Carnus, who will be the main antagonist in the story.

That's a cool concept you have there. Although, the effeminate kabuki mask is a little reminiscent of Vega from Street Fighter fame. Which model are you planning to use for him? Or is someone going to create a brand new one, so as to bring out that detailing on the chest?

Edit: I just re-checked the first post, and saw that some concept art with a masked villain has been around for awhile:

Here are is some of the concept art we have so far:

And some of the Characters In-Game screenshots:

NOTE: The screenshots are early renderings and are still going through development.

Are you still planning on using the Revan model?

Yea, one of Carnus' characteristics is his extreme vanity, which is also a characteristic of Vega, the mask was actually concepted after one of the kings in the Crusades who wore a similar mask of metal to hid his disease. Carnus wears his mask to hide his face from the world, but for an opposite reason, he believes that his face is "just too beautiful" for the world to see... He's kind of a douche.

That's one hawt n sexeh looking Sith Lord.

YOU'RE one sexy looking sith lord...

 then if his mask is a bit sissy looking, it fits his character?

Hahaha, not necessarily, you will see in the game that Carnus is pretty much a badda**, his mask will look pretty good when coupled with his voice and actions. It will grow on ya :p

Nah, then it wouldn't be fun anymore!

If he does, we can just call him Marius, and all will be well.

how much longer left

it wont be another flop mod like TSLRP :(

Unlike TSLRP, this mod is worked on by few people (we used to have quite a bit. Now, I can honestly only count about 4 or 5 of us left.) instead of mostly 1 person, and Doc is making practically an entire new game, except completely remodeling and replacing the ingame player models and the engine, and some other aspects that my piss poor memory keeps me from remembering.

Its for reasons like this that I enjoy a smaller team. I get to work at my own pace with no hassles. To be brutally honest, there is really only 1 person actively working on the mod, me :). Not that I'm complaining or anything, if anyone else was able to do the area modeling, I would have them hop on that in a second. Most of the people i have on my team are voice actors and/or "module developers". All of that really doesn't come into play until you have an actual place for characters to exist.

As for the flop bit, I can't promise you it wont, or that something wont happen. Horus willing that I get my dream job out of the freaking sky, I'm obviously going to focus my time and energy there. However, as that is unlikely to happen, it's not something to worry about. What I *can* promise you is this: for as long as I have the ability, and as long as there are people to play it, I will continue work on this mod. It may take a long while due to hiccups in schedule and the fact that I just might have crap I have to do, but I will devote myself to it as much as humanly possible.

Can't say much more than that I'm afraid. At least I'm not making bs promises that I can't keep though.
