Marius Fett Posted April 20, 2008 Share Posted April 20, 2008 I know i've cancelled alot if W.I.P projects in the past, but now I know where I was going wrong. I was trying to do too much from the off, getting bored and losing interest. While making this mod however, I will pace myself more and not rush or go too hard. Onto the mod: This mod will allow you to recruit a male human Jedi named Jak into your party, replacing T3. He will have a custom robe, portrait, lightsaber, quest and more. Here's Jaks' story: Jak spent his early childhood on Nar Shaddaa, he was thrown out of his home and taken to Dantooine when he was small, after accidentally causing the death of his father. Jaks' father came home drunk one night when Jak was three years old. Being drunk, he didn't really know what was happening, and he attacked his small son. Jak, scared of his father in this state, unknowingly lashed out withh the Force. The wave of Force energy Jak emitted, threw his father out of the open door of the house, and down into a pit filled with fighting Kath Hounds outside the Cantina. Jaks' family, scared of his power, and angry at his fathers death, took Jak to the spaceport, and put him on a shuttle to Dantooine, where he came to be found by a Jedi named Nayr Savied. Savied, felt the Force in Jak, and brought him before the Council, telling them that the child was an orphan, and that he was very strong in the Force, and could be a great asset to the Order. The Council, sensing the power in Jak, and knowing that he had nowhere else to go, agreed to train him as a Jedi. He spent the next several years of his life studying under Master Nayr, who was kind but strict. He was a very able pupil, who was always wiling to learn. A few years ago, Jak met another Jedi named Tethor, with whom he became good friends. Now, Jak and Tethor are on a mission together from the Council, to investigate the Sith Academy on Korriban. Tethor ventured into the Academy in disguise, though was discovered and captured by the Sith. They brutally tortured and murdered him and finally, as Jak watched from afar, they threw Tethors body off a cliff into the Valley of the Dark Lords, where it remains as a reminder to students of what happens to those who try to decieve the Sith. You discover Jak in the Dreshdae cantina, where he explains his situation to you. You agree to help him recover his friends body from the Valley, and he agrees to travel with you on your quest. As you travel together throughout the galaxy, you will discover more of Jaks' past. You will discover Jaks' worst fear, though there is one question that must be answered... Will the thing he fears most come to pass? Only time will tell... _____ That's what I have so far as the story. I need ideas for his sidequest, what happened in his past, and what will happen in future. If you have any suggestions for new content, or ideas for improving existing content, post a thread over at theProject Forum, or here in this thread and i'll see what I can do. Other members may also comment on suggestions made and suggest improvements that can be made on them and so on. The mod forum is here, please register there, and leave feedback and ideas for the mod. If anyone decides they'd like to contribut in some way, they'll be more than welcome. Here's what i've done so far: Pre-recruit dialog: 100% Recruit scripts: 100% Jak's Robe: 100% Jak's Lightsaber: 100% Jak's dialog: 0% Quest: 0% ____ As you can see, i've been working on this for a while. I just laughed so hard I almost peed, and now I’m getting strange looks from people in the office. This mod looks like a definite downloader. Though, despite his lack of dialog options, I still love little T3. I hope this mod is compatible with something I am building… Are you making Jak as a completely new npc? With a new entries in the 2das? Or are you overlaying/masking T3 by changing T3’s appearance/dialogs/sound files/scripts? You get into the academy, and find Tethors body lying battered and broken in the Valley. Jak is angry at the sight of it, and you have to calm him down to stop him turning to the dark side and killing all the Sith. Jak takes something from Tethors body, (lightsaber or blaster or something) and says it's all he has to remember his friend by now. ___ That's the first part. After that, it's a few levels of just talking (like with other party members) and finding out about Jaks past. After a while, Jak will show you some of his memories through the Force, in which you play as Jak when he was a child.
