CommanderQ
Lee Marvin was a pretty awesome "Frontline" actor, too. He was a Marine on the Pacific Front! But alot of the actors we speak of did try their best to do their part during the war.
mimartin
But alot of the actors we speak of did try their best to do their part during the war. All were very good actors outside the western genre, but I will not say their best work came outside of the western. Examples: Lee Marvin 1965 Best Actor in a Leading Role for Cat Ballou (his only Oscar). John Wayne John Wayne 1970 Best Actor in a Leading Role for True Grit (his only Oscar). Gary Cooper 1953 Best Actor in a Leading Role for High Noon (his second Oscar the other coming in 1942 for Sargeant York). Marvin should have shared his Oscar with his co-star pictured with him below. And Paint Your Wagon is just about the only musical that I can sit through without feeling the urge to vomit. QFT When looking up the Oscars I found out Lee Marvin actually has a Gold Record for “ .” Although my favorite song from Paint Your Wagon is “The Best Thing in Life Are Dirty” featuring both Eastwood and Marvin. CommanderQ
Heheh, I'm sorry, but I can't help thinking of Arnold in a cowboy costume carrying a mini-gun.
