Astor
Things that are dead but still awesome: The Spartans at Thermopylae If you're referring to the historical battle of Thermopylae, then I agree. If you mean the stupid comic book and 'THIS IS SPARTA', then no. Dinosaurs Of course!
Adavardes
Let's see....discovering this new species could have an impact on our entire understanding of biological development and evolution, ichthyology, paleontology, and herpetology. That's not exciting enough, apparently. This is hypothetical at best, seeing as the discovery of yet another dinosaur isn't very likely to cause a breakthrough in science as we know it, though it is possible. Even so, I did say that it was an important peice of historical information, because it is. The more we know, the greater our progress becomes, and I'm all for the intellectual pursuits, of any kind. I'm just not seeing why yet another huge dinosaur is so amazing, and why the size of its teeth or what it was able to do with my head really invokes such awe. I mean, this animal lived during a time when a lot of amazingly large creatures lived, and after you've studied and read about that time enough, the new discoveries of equally large species should really lose its excitement. If this Peliosaur were alive today, I would say that it deserves recognition, but in the context of the era it resided in, it's still rather unremarkable. Yet another large lizard in the world of large lizards. *Jae pulls out electron microscope to search for twiddled happy stick* Nope, still too small too see, might not even be there. I could be so mean.

Darth InSidious
~-Musical Interlude-~ Ode to a Peliosaur The outlook for today is mainly tragic, Cloudy, dull, occasional rain and scattered magic, But unlike those who saw That ancient Peliosaur I hardly ever feel nostalgic. And although the intellectually agile, Can logically prove the heart is fragile, Drifting unawares Through all of its affairs, Nevertheless Palaeo-archaeology is still the simple badge I'll proudly wear... When does a dream begin? Does it start with a goodnight kiss? Is it begun when two hearts are one When does a dream begin? When does a dream begin? Is it born in a moment of bliss? Is it conceived or simply achieved When does a dream begin? The vision of you appears somehow Impossible to resist But I'm not imagining seeing you now For who could have dreamed of this? When does a dream begin? When reality is dismissed? Or does it commence when we lose all pretense? When does a dream begin? When does a dream begin? Does it start with the end of the law? Or when I clap eyes, after multiple tries, On a Peliosaur? When does a dream begin? [This interlude will be followed by a brief tapdancing routine, performed by TriggerGod.]
Rogue Nine
In other news, the new pliosaur has been dubbed "Predator X", which honestly is the coolest name ever and should be made permanent.
jonathan7
Just to back up what Niner has said, I've just done a major prune of off-topic posts -- please keep it on topic peeps. Further more if you want to make jabs at moderation using the Report Post function would be a real novel idea for some of you, first thing I knew of this thread was reported posts... -- j7
