CNN lurches further leftward w/new departure

Not too much of a surprise.

CNN is left leaning. His was the lone (relatively) conservative voice. And in actuality he is more centrist than right. Just his stance on illegal immigration was far right... oh and his clinging to that stupid birther conspiracy...

Oh well I guess CNN can go on talking about baby killin moms and promoting how wrong the conservatives are. Yep they're balanced all right. Not saying Fox isn't biassed. At least not the network. Their actual news is presented with both sides of the issue given equal time. Heck even O' Reiley gives more time to the opposing view than his own view(Time it with a watch some time).

The one who controls the flow of information controls how people think-conservative or liberal. Sadly, we have no news organizations that are able to provide straight news without extensive editorializing.

Of course, which is why every news consortium is usually full of bullocks, with "real" news seldom being reported. I merely find the knee-jerk reaction to anything associated with "liberalism" brings a response similar to a baby in a blender.

Damn. I liked Lou b/c he actully said stuff without the hyperbole. BTW, Someone fired a shot into his house on Oct. 25th from the street he lives on.

People far on one side decry and bemoan the other, if only for the fact it exists.

Though some exaggerate, others omit things. Telling partial truth is no less a prevarication as is adding stuff to whole truth. Or anything in between that isn't the whole truth and nothing but--so help them G O D. Far as CNN...I think they're full of themselves. Oh yeah right, "We're the #1 source for independent voters." Sure. And my real name is Luigi Mario; I'm married to Sheena Fujibiyashi. :¬:

All things considered TV liberal sources: CNN, CBS, PBS NBC, ABC; TV conservative sources: FOX.

You sorta have to watch both sides to get the whole story.

Also, dunno about anyone else, but he is the only guy *really* sticking up for the American middle class--even pointing towards republicans and conservatives when they have been the problem. The only other guy to do that (well maybe not only, but this one prominently) would be Fred Thompson.

"You cannot have an opposition movement without opposition media." -Van Jones, former Green Jobs Czar for President Obama.

Only point of posting the article was that CNN no longer had the figleaf of claiming themselves other than leftwing media. The only things coming really close to balancing them out were a toned down Glen Beck and Lou Dobbs. Now both are gone. I agree w/TC that Dobbs was more centrist than conservative, but he still gave CNN some excuse to claim they weren't looney lib starkers. As to their rhetoric about being the #1 news source of independents......

also news networks are not stews, you can't add or remove a pinch of dobbs or beck and make the network more or less balanced, if you thought they were biased before, they still have the same bias now. personally, i think cnn is the least biased of the cable news channels, although that doesn't say much since they are all trash even if they weren't biased and it pains me to see anchors on them who have master's degrees in journalism and such swallowing their pride and reading the latest john and kate plus eight news in between commercials for cash4gold and erectile dysfunction pills in a pitiful appeal to the lowest common denominators of society. i feel especially bad for fox news people like bill o'reilly who after studying for years to be journalists are now resigned to trying to keep up with glenn beck's insanity and acting like it's at all rational.

i guess what i'm saying is that if you watch cable news networks for anything other than entertainment value you are a partisan hack anyway so it's a bit hypocritical to accuse them of bias

I thought bias was a given, anyways? :)

Okay.

Uhhh...Whose accusing?

I guess I could basically go for that--if for different reasoning: different angles of the same piles of manure. Day in, day out. Or as I believe you said about the likewise 2 party system:

same **** different piles

I truly wish that the "News" outlets would drop the partisan BS, but lets face it, being edgy and in your face has kinda pushed Fox News to the fore front of the news networks. MSDNC has essentially tried to play the foil to Fox and appears to have gained some ground. CNN has tried to be more centrist, and while I think they've failed at it, it's also cost them the ratings. They aren't edgy or controversial enough. There's an old saying, "There's no such thing as bad publicity." Heck after Obama decried Fox News, ratings for Fox JUMPED. The more you villify them the more people want to watch.
