RevansProspect
Heres my problem: Every time i try to extract the files in an override folder in a Kotor 2 mod which i downloaded, it doesnt allow itself to be extracted. For example, every time i try to extract it. A message log comes up stating ( Cannot find specified path, or Access Denied.) I thought restarting my computer and downloaded on one occassion WinRar 32 bit, and on another restarting procedure i installed 64 bit. Both methods didnt make any difference. I have no problem installing the mods which use the TSL patcher. When i install those they get extracted to their proper files without ease. I checked my security settings onto my computer and that didnt help either, so if anyone has experienced a similar problem, please let me know your advice. Thanks you. harIII
Have you just tried a good old fashion drag and drop? If that doesn't do anything I would just extract them to a location that should work such as the desktop if the mod isn't too big and then drag and drop or a copy and paste. newbiemodder
Sometimes when using certain applications I cannot save directly to overide. I usually create a temporary file somewhere and save it there. Then I do the good old drag and drop and that allow me to get around the Access Denied warning. Star Admiral
Hi there, and welcome to the forums! If you are running under WinVista or Win7, you'll need to run the extractor as an administrator to get it to extract to the Override folder properly. - Star Admiral
RevansProspect
I have Windows 7, so WinRar hasnt been the issue. As i said, extracting the folders wasnt a problem at all in Kotor 1. I have tried extracting the files to a temporary folder, and from there extracting them to my Kotor 2 Override file, yet it keeps saying " Access Denied" so that wasnt helpful. ZimmMaster
I suggest trying a different program. I personally recommend IZArc or 7zip.

Right click on the entirety of your KotOR 2 folder, and un-check the read only box (where ever it appears in the option menu in Windows 7). Yes, and select properties to get the screen where you can do the un-checking (just thought I'd throw that in, j7, for those less in-the-know)
RevansProspect
Thanks for the ideas fellas, i appreciate it. However ive tried selecting properties and unchecking "read only" that didnt make any difference either. What id like to know is have any of you experienced a very similar issue as to the problem im experiencing? Im tried reinstalling the game and the mods, thinking of other solutions, but im stumped. No, I haven't had that error, but it's related to your Operating System I think, as I have a different Operating System (XP). Have you tried running the extractor as an Administrator? Qui-Gon Glenn
Use compatibility mode and admin privileges for anything you do regarding game installation/modification, lest things end up in strange and useless places. Not being able to do things, ie "Access Denied" means that either you are not logged in as an administrator, or the action you tried to do required that you operate as an admin in the shortcut before running the action. Vista/7 UAC is the culprit, and to beat it you just have to remember to be methodical and do everything the same everytime, process wise, for installing the games or mods. RevansProspect
Yeah all the solutions ive tried havent been helpful at all in my case. For instance, i just reinstalled my software from the point i bought it, and reinstalled Kotor 2. Now this time i just made a temporary file and i extracted all the material i needed to extract into my Kotor 2 Override folder into that folder, and from there i copied and pasted. For instance, i put in my override file the "Czerka Uniform" for Jana Lorso. Im experiencing a bug now where she appears in the elevator at the Peragus Mining Halls. Im also experiencing a bug where the Harbinger doesnt come out of lightspeed and docks at Peragus II. Because of that i cant progress past the part when you leave the mining dormitories when Kreia joins your party. My games completly messed up. Any little idea helps fellas. Heya RevansProspect, sorry for not replying, generally I think it's because we're all out of idea's; personally I'm betting on some sort of OS issue. Have you tried extracting with different programmes? Such as 7zip and winrar, in administrator mode within the OS? Did you download the Windows 7 variant of the extractor your using, and made sure to use a 32 bit, or 64 bit version depending what your OS is? (That's not meant to talk down to you, more I don't really have much more in the way of suggestions )

Any little idea helps fellas. I signed up just to let you know. All you have to do, is extract the files manually to desktop(eg) then select and copy/cut and manually paste to the override folder, then press copy and replace when the popup appears, your done. Gotta hate win7.
RevansProspect
I pretty much tried all the ideas suggested. With the override issue, i wasnt able to gain access to extract the file (even though i was logged on as the administrator) so instead i created a new folder, extracted the files of the mods onto that folder, and from there i copied and pasted the files. Now the problem im having now for some odd apparent reason, everytime i walk off the Peragus Asteroid in my space suit, their is a part in the game when you approach the bridge, Atton Rand speaks to you on a comlink and then the Harbinger comes out of Lightspeed. This part doesnt happen....im assuming its some sort of bug, i downloaded a mod at kotorfiles called " Sion arrival at Peragus" which its purpose was to fix this scene, and this didnt do any good. I restarted my game many times in an attempt to see if that was the source, that didnt help. So apparently my game is corrupted, since this part doesnt play i cannot progess any furthur into the game. If someone has a good idea to help my situation, i would deeply appreciate it, any thoughts helps, thanks.
