FIFA, Winning 11, or Pro Evolution?

This is coming from a Football fanatic and football game fanatic.

Get FIFA 10. Pro Evo used to be much better, but starting in 09 FIFA overtook it and now is better, although they both have their plus sides, FIFA is overrall the much better game.

And Winning 11 and Pro Evo are the same thing :/

I'll grab the two reviews...put together the + and - for you :)

FIFA

PRO:

-Virtual Pro mode ('glue' your own face on a player and join your favorite team)

-360 degrees driblling

-Randomness (mistakes from NPC's)

-Special online system. If you want to play a 'bad' team you can set the settings to avoid 5 star teams and instead only play against similar teams.

-Can fool the keeper and go around him

-Develop specials corner and free kick strategies

-Defender will shoot the ball out of the stadium when under pressure (realism)

-Practice mode

-Management mode

CON:

-Some team data not up to date in terms of strenght

-Stupid AI when playing near the last line

-Sprinters a bit overpowered

PES:

PRO:

-Better graphics (no Fifa quality though)

-Excellent sliding and fall animations

-Grass looks very realistic

-AI improved

-Lightning effects

-Tempo (higher then Fifa)

-Solo-ing (almost impossible in Fifa)

-Unexpected situations (scrimmages etc)

CON:

-Run and duel animations

-Keeper AI bit unstable (but you can choose to manually control him)

-A bit grittier and 'dark' compared to the colourful Fifa (could be a Pro point too though)

-Assigning ability cards to players strange gimmick

These were the two reviews from the game magazine. Both reviewers found it difficult to choose because the AI from PES and the (somewhat) unrealistic (as in soloing through) gameplay make it very cool online.

Fifa is the better sim though. Better graphics. All the licences from all official competitions. It's more realistic though. Soloing on your own will probably result in loss of the ball, where in Pro Evo you can 'free wheel' more.

It's up to you :)

Hope this helped a bit.

Gameplay-wise i'd go with Pro Evo every day, Fifa always feels very unnatural to me, especially when shooting, whereas the movements and feel of the play in pro evo just feels better. having said that, i haven't played the most recent generation so these are second hand impressions. furthermore, Fifa probably has the overall better package with the licensing etc etc. i don't like the gimmicky game modes of Fifa but the rest is better. i would take the view of which you plan to spend more time or effort doing - playing a fun game of football (pro evo) or going whole hog with regards to the 'experience' in which case fifa would be the better choice imo.

Firstly, for those confused Winning 11=Pro Evo.

It all comes down to personal preference. As mentioned above, there are a huge amount of people that switched to FIFA from 09, and have stayed put for 10.

@LordofTheFish >>what platform ??

I'm a fan of the pc version, despite its relative lack of polish. I do play the PS3 version often though at a friends place. I envy the Martin Tyler commentary it has, though we often switch to spanish commentary to hear the GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!! that the spanish commentators like to do.

something that always irked me about ProEvo was the ball physics... it gave me the creeps. In FIFA it bobbles and bounces around more realistically, IMHO.
