LDR
I look forward for more progress. But maybe you should put up some screens.
Darth_Sasuna
haha nice mod man sounds very interesting maybe during my summer time i can learn some of this scripting with kotor if it doesnt take ot long and if my father lets me sit around for hours a day i can help i know the basics of coding as in how it all works but i mean very basic, i used cbtdirect.com to do so. but ill ask my dad if i can start learning it ppl have told me wont take long to do this and with me going into the navy this is a great first step to learn towards computer programming. but also i like the ror mod by logan23 so if i do learn il lbe taking up on his offer first considering i offered my help to him already when i was able and if i got time ill help u out to. but like i said that is if i have time to learn it. Darth Weasel
It has been a while since I've modded last, and today when I was about to start again I was shocked to find that some of the main files for my mod are missing. I have a resonable idea of how to do everything again but this has definitely been a major setback. Most of my work is gone now but I've been working on making it again. So far this is what I have done: Overall: Main Story: 79% Companions: 75% Side Quests: 0% Intro Level: Story behind it: 100% NPC placement:90% Dialogue: 85% Placeables: 45% Backgrounds:15% Voice acting: 0% Manann: Story behind it: 65% Dialogue: 20% NPC placement: 7% Placeables: 9% Backgrounds 0% Based on how long I've been working on this I know that this probably seems pathetic but because of the missing files, lack of motivation, short attention span, and small amount of help from the other modders this hasn't been a walk in the park for me. juansaman
Keep the good work man, a project of this size is not an easy thing to do. Please, do not fall into lack of motivation, that's terrible and it's the reason because a lot of people don't finish their projects. I think you are building something great and interesting
Slstoev
I also think so. Keep it up, Darth Weasel, so that you can one day be as great as a modder as so many others here on the forums.
LDR
Weasel, your doing better with your TC than me with my mods. I haven't touched my mods in a month!
Canderis
Lack of motivation is the biggest mod killer. Its kind of what has been happening to me. All i really like to do right now is model.... Anyways, DO NOT SUBMIT TO IT.
logan23
To remove the lack of motivation you must look at it as joining a baseball, basketball or football team, or even a track and field activity. There are days that you have a great practice or a great sprint run time but with this you accept the days your coach makes you run the bleachers or any other painfull tasks to Build endurance. To build your endurance you must grit your teeth and run bleachers or in modding do somtbing unfun but needed for the mods completion. At the end of day all things worth it and give feeling of accomplishment are hard. Nothing rewarding or worth doing is easy. And when you complete these tasks pat yourself on the back, you earned it and in turn built your endurance and focus. Food for thought....
Xarwarz
Dont let lack of motivation stop u after i did my last mod i said i wasn't doing any more mods like that because i needed to reinvent it in another way. But then i starting finding new programs to do what i always wanted to do so my new mod born. Dont be overwhelmed either if like me if i start to get bored i leave it alone for awhile it gets done when its done.
Darth Weasel
I decided to make some changes to the party roster. I've decided to kill off all of the exiles old crew at the beginning of the game. This is the crew I've decided on for now. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Mission and Zallabar: (Zallabar is Mission's puppet character, like Bao Dur and Remote.) Details: Your average trouble making duo, known to get into and out of trouble. From the begining to their first adventure on Taris, to the end of their last adventure on an unknown world near the Star Forge, they have been able to use Missions quick wit and Zallabars brute strength to survive. Atris Details: Not much is known about this Jedi Master, other then she succumbed to the darkside over her feelings of the Exile. Some tales say she was killed by the exile, others say he spared her only so she could spread the ways of the Sith. Nobody truely knows. Carth Onasi Details: Carth was never able to trust for some reason. Whenever he let a person get close to him they always seemed to betray his trust. Whether Revan did or not is irrelevant, either way Carth wants to find him. When he learns that Revan is the main cause of your journey Carth can't help but join your crew. Whether it's for revenge, or to be reunited has yet to be determined. Vrook and Kavar: (Vrook is Kavar's puppet character.) Details: Jedi Masters from the council on Corusant, they were some of the Jedi behind the Exiles well... exile. WIth Vrooks extremist mastery of the force, and Kavar's skill with a lightsaber this is a formidable duo... as long as they're loyal to you. Kreia and Zez Kai El: (Zez Kai El is Kreia's puppet.) Details: Kreia, the Sith Lord and Zez Kai El, the Jedi Master. This unlikly team takes the place of Vrook and Kavar in the event of a Darkside Character. Nobody knows how Kreia survived the Exile on Malachor, not even the Exile and only Kreia knows how Zez Kai El is still alive, or why he is traveling with her. Meranlo Details: Meranlo is a skilled Rodian mechanic, previously employed by the Exchange. He got tired of this line of work, and when he saw you, he knew that he had a chance to get off world. Convincing you to take him as a crew member, he seems like a helpful enough person, but can he be trusted? Master Vajinlak Details: Vajinlak is a skilled Jedi Master who went into hiding when Nighlus started killing off the Jedi. He isolated himself, simalar to the way the exile did, and eventually found himself stranded on a strange outer rim world. You came to him looking for help, and after saving his life he felt he owed it to you to agree. Strong willed and dangerous, this Jedi Master has always been a force to be reckoned with... even more so now that he's not too against the occasional force choke to get what he wants. Indilo Details: Indilo is a skilled Mandalorian Warrior, who fought in some of the major battles of the Mandalorian Wars including Malachor. His Mandalorian heritage and desire for combat constantly puts him at odds with other members of your crew, mainly Carth. Bastila Shan Details: There isn't much to say about Bastila. Bastila was one of Revans companions during the war against Malak, and they shared a Force Bond. She mastered Battle Meditation at a young age and was one of the key components to the Republic war effort against Malak... that is until Malak turned her to the Dark Side. It is uncertain whether Revan joined Bastila and became Sith Lord again, or if he turned her back to the light because shortly after his victory over Malak he dissapeared... And More to Come... I've also decided to release some more info on the plot. This may contain some spoilers so this is mainly for other modders who'd be willing to help out with the mod. There may be a few holes in the story so far, but this is just an outline. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) After your crash landing on Mannan, you are greeted by a rescue team led by none other then Carth Onasi.(If Revan was darksided it will provide an explanation of how he is still alive) The rescue team helps you out of the wreckage and carries your body to a nearby med bay. You awaken and carth tells you about what has happened since you and your crew isolated yourselves. A massive three way war broke out between the Republic, Sith, and Mandalorians. It seemed to be a stalemate, no side able to get the upper hand. Each army was weak, weary, and their numbers waned. It was at this moment, when the galaxy was at it's weakest that the enemy who attacked you, the True Sith who Revan went to combat, attacked the Galaxy. This of course must have meant that Revan failed in his mission. The True Sith possessed a power unlike anything the Galaxy had ever seen. Advanced technology, and ungodly mastery of the force, and incredible skill with a lightsaber fueled the army. The galaxy, seeing the immediate threat, set aside it's differences. An uneasy alliance was formed, between the Republic, Sith, and Mandalorians. Battle after bloody battle was fought, but the True Sith always came out victorious. Hearing about the threat that this poses, you agree to help fight the enemy. Carth grants you a capital ship, (whether it will be Republic, Sith, or Mandalorian has yet to be determined) a crew of 100 soldiers made up of each nationality, (I plan on using a call of aid type summoning system, except for when a soldier dies they stay dead so you have a limited number of troops) and sends you on a mission to gather an elite crew. He gives you an idea of where to look and sends you on your way. On your way to your ship, you encounter Mission and Zallabar, (If Revan was darksided it will provide an explanation of how they're still alive) who join your crew. You enter your ship and head out... I have more written already, but I still need to work out some of the holes.
Slstoev
If you're gonna kill the Exile's crew please don't kill of HK-47 and Atton. I want them alive because they're the funniest characters in TSL(Atton jokes and sense of humor and HK-47 - you know) and also Mandalore The Preserver(Canderous). I want them alive because they're the funniest characters in TSL(Atton jokes and sense of humor and HK-47 - you know) and also Mandalore The Preserver(Canderous). I might change my mind about killing them off, but still they wouldn't be the same if they were voice acted by somebody else. Even if I did kill them off, I already have replacement characters in mind. Meranlo for Atton, Indilo for Canderous, and I'm still making a replacement for HK. They won't be the exact same personality but you will notice similarities.

Darth Weasel
I haven't decided yet. I'm not that far into the mod and it depends on what kind of setting I need for the level.
Darth Weasel
I'm putting the finishing touches on the intro level. I've removed some of the features from it to make it more quick and to the point, but also more immersive. Now I'm just having 2 problems. 1. I'm trying to place Atton's corpse in one of the rooms of the ship but he won't appear. 2. I'm trying to place a computer terminal in the Hawks engine room, but that won't appear. Anyone have any ideas of why that might be. I'm pretty sure I have it set up right in the GIT file.

logan23
Hey, The mod sounds interesting but I just don't see how you can have it where Revan was Darkside in kotor1 and mission be alive. Maybe just replace the character if Revan is dark side. I also was wondering about the Mandolorians...since Canderous is their leader why are they an issue? Maybe just replace the character if Revan is dark side. I also was wondering about the Mandolorians...since Canderous is their leader why are they an issue? I can't really reveal how Mission is still alive, as it's a spoiler for the story of the mod. As for the Mandalorian alliance: Canderous was part of the crew and if you read the earlier parts of the thread you would know that he dies in the intro to the game. Darth Weasel
Right now, I'm taking a break from the actual modding and working more on the details of whats going to be happening. I have a list of locations in the game right here. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Destroyed Ebon Hawk Telos Mannan Hoth Remanas Dantooine Taris True Sith Military Base Korriban Your Capital Ship I have more places thought of but they are spoilers for the story. Darth Weasel
Are we going to see any pics soon? There really isn't anything that picture worthy yet. A lot of the places I have done, are so far places that are already in game except for different item/NPC placement. Once I make the places a bit more unique, and work out a few bugs I'm going to post some screenshots. Not sure how long it's going to take though so don't rush it. They'll come when they come. Now to the main point of this post. Thanks to harIII, I now have a way for you to have more than 10 companions to choose from without over using puppets. (Zez Kai El and Kavar might not need to be puppets anymore!) Thanks to this, I might put in some ways to save companions from death or get them back by other means which I can't reveal at this time due to it being a major spoiler. Since the exile now has a capital ship, I felt it necessary to give him an army to choose from. I'm not sure of the limits of this method of having more companions yet, but to the best of my understanding you can have a limitless number of them if you have the time to set up the scripts. (Correct me if I'm wrong har.)
harIII
You're exactly right, the method that I've developed will allow the PC to have as many as you want. You can make a story conversion with 1 companion or you can essentially have every single npc in the game become a companion. The major question is how many can you handle which will make the game epic or will it just destroy the quality. As long as you can pull of high quality characters as seen in the KOTOR games the sky is the limit.
christos200
it will be cool if you could make some massive fights. kepp up the good work.
