Tysyacha
We all want something in life. It's a fact of our human nature. To reach for the stars, to fulfill our dreams, to be more than just a mortal creature. What will you do to get what you want, To achieve success and accolades? What will you sacrifice? What will you do, And what are you willing to trade? If you have the gumption to risk everything In order that your life may change, Then come spend the night at Le Manoir Macabre.... I invite you to make the Exchange! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) Q: Is this "The Eleventh Hour" Revisited? A: Basically, yes, although without Satan and so many characters! Q: Is the Host of this little dinner party the Devil? A: NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, although s/he definitely has designs on the others. Q: What about the characters' bedrooms? Are they based on color? A: Nope. This time, the characters' bedrooms are based on what they want. Q: How many characters are going to be in this, total? A: FIVE: 2 males, 2 females, and the Host, who can be either M or F. Q: Five? What do you mean, five? Only five? No fair!!! A: Less than six, more than four. Capisce? Q: Threadmaster, how many characters will you be controlling? A: Either one or two, depending on how many people respond to this CC. Q: Any other weird stuff I should know about? A: Each character will be taken to an "Exchange Room" in the mansion after dinner, which relates to what they'll be asked to trade in exchange for what they want. They will also be given a "party favor" object, which relates to an unresolved issue from their past. How did the Host get it? Q: Who will be controlling the character of the Host? A: Whomever I choose. If you're good, I might pick you. So...anyone Game?
Master_Archon
I'll post/bring back my character after I see the character sheet, so I can have a general idea of what might need to be edited/changed.
steven
Just one simple question and I am aware this may show off my own personal stupidity by asking such a question however I have long made peace with my own retardation so I can ask without shame: what is this about? Alkonium
I'm up for it once you post a blank character sheet and some details on the setting.
Tysyacha
What is this about? This is about a mysterious dinner party, in an even more mysterious mansion. Four guests are invited to spend the night at the mansion via an exclusive invitation. The Host of the party is an incredibly wealthy and powerful person, who has the ability to give the four guests the thing they most want in life. However, the Host requires something in exchange from each of them, and the stakes are higher than the four guests think. As I said before, the Host is not the Devil, but s/he does have the power to make the guests' lives heaven--or a living hell--depending on if they fulfill their end of the bargain. Will the guests make "the Exchange" of a lifetime, or refuse? CHARACTER SHEET NAME: Remy Avrait GENDER: Female EDITED AGE: 21 DESCENT: 1/2 French, 1/2 English APPEARANCE: Like Kate Winslet/Rose DeWitt Bukater in "Titanic" (cheesy!) GREATEST DESIRE/WISH: True Love GREATEST WEAKNESSES: Impulsiveness, Pride, Being Naive IDEE FIXE (second-greatest desire): Chess, and getting better at it ATTRACTED TO: Depends on the person! BACKSTORY: Remy's background is similar to Becky Sharp's in the movie VANITY FAIR. She was taken to a "boarding school" as a young girl of five after her father died, who was a near-penniless amateur historian. She learned French there, as well as how to scrub floors and deliver endless messages for the headmistress. Now she has fled, with nowhere else to turn but to the Host, who has invited her to a dinner party...

Master_Archon
Basic recreation of my character from "The Eleventh Hour" RP, nothing special. NAME: Shani "Ebony" Burdock GENDER: Female AGE: 22 DESCENT: One-half Egyptian, One-half British APPEARANCE: Auburn hair, with streaks of blondish-brown, roughly waist length, and intricately braided. Has shockingly bright grey eyes, that are almost whitish in appearance. Has a very light natural tan due to her Egyptian mother. Quite beautiful (including all the "amenities" that apply), and 'dainty', because of her youth; she's considered by most an intellectual in her prime, whispered by those few who know her as quite insane. GREATEST DESIRE/WISH: Outwardly expresses a desire for her family holdings - not in her possession at the moment; Inwardly she desires a true intellectual challenge. Both of these are equal in want and desire for her: one is well enough known, but unattainable, the other is secret, and may be quite the same. GREATEST WEAKNESSES: Cynical/ Impish; Tangent-prone; Flirtatious; Childish; Facade, that overlaps an Alter-ego (Pitiful, Depressive, Cruel, and somewhat Violent). IDEE FIXE (second-greatest desire): Artistry, already very good. ATTRACTED TO: No one, and anyone: she isn't shy with ANYONE. Backstory: Later, I'm kinda out of it right now. Alkonium
Name:Tim Smith Gender: Male Age: 20 Descent: Mix of English, French, Welsh, Cree, and Métis (not sure of actual percentages), Canadian Nationality Appearance: Like Matt Smith (from Doctor Who), but younger, and with more stubble Greatest Desire/Wish: To make a major impact on the technology industry Greatest Weakness: Socially Awkward Idee Fixe: Better social skills Attracted To: Men and women Also, when is this set? Master_Archon
Hm? I think the time period needs to be discussed Tysy....
Tysyacha
The time period is the late 1800's. This mansion has some electricity, but not everywhere--just the main places like the dining room, living room, and hallways. Technology ain't what it is today! ForceFightWMe12
Any special requirements for the Host?
Tysyacha
Basically, the Host offers each guest their greatest desire or wish, in exchange for being manipulated and doing something dishonest or illegal along the lines of their idee fixe. Also, the Host has specifically decorated each guest's bedroom according to their greatest wish, like so: Remy's Room: Full of candles, bubble bath, romantic music, red satin and silk Ebony's Room: Full of ostentatious objects, a jigsaw puzzle, and books galore Tim's Room: Full of metal trains, models of technological marvels, blueprints Male #4's Room: white and simple, with a bluebird (of happiness!) in a gilded cage Also, after dinner (featuring each guest's most favorite entree and dessert!), the Host takes them to a special room in the mansion in which they conduct "The Exchange". Here's where I'm planning to have the Host take the guests: Remy: Game Room (with a chessboard set up at which to discuss the Exchange) Tim: Ballroom (where the Host teaches Tim how to waltz during the Exchange) Ebony: Art Studio (where the Host poses for a portrait during the Exchange) Allan: Music Room (where the Host accompanies Allan while discussing the Exchange) Sound appealing? ForceFightWMe12
In that case... Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce to you, tonight's host: NAME: Anthony Saint-John GENDER: Male AGE: 24 DESCENT: 100% French APPEARANCE: Kevin Flamme GREATEST DESIRE/WISH: Absolute Power GREATEST WEAKNESSES: Absolute Power corrupts absolutely
Tysyacha
Excellent! As soon as Guest #4 shows up, we can start!
ForceFightWMe12
So...the host is entirely human, right? That being said, how much, exactly, does he know about each of his attendants? I'm guessing he'll have researched them and invited them for specific reasons...
Tysyacha
The Host IS entirely human, but he has been experimenting with telepathy, hypnosis, and the basic tenets of brainwashing in his spare time. He has researched all four of the guests as extensively as he can, as all four of them are in the "society pages" of the town's newspaper (albeit in the back). He also wants to use them for different reasons, yes, which I will let you decide and elaborate upon as your relationships with the characters develop. Tysyacha
OH--and if the guests don't fulfill their end of the bargain, they become the Host's servants for the rest of their days. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
Ping
I'll fire away here: Name: Allan Lee Gender: Male Age: 21 Descent: 50% Chinese, quarter Irish, quarter Polish Appearence: Black hair, hazel eyes, tall and thin to the point he's almost skeletal. His skin color and eye shape is like that of Far Easterns. Greatest Desire: Simply to be happy. Greatest Weakness: Often keeps his thoughts and details - usually important ones - to himself. This has led to him bottling up his emotions. As a result, he never outwardly shows emotions. Idee Fixe: How to play various musical instruments; interested in possibly writing a piece or two, put is not high on his priority list. Attracted to: Women, though has been successful at pretending to be asexual. Backstory: Growing up in the U.S., Allan often dealt with racism on a day to day basis. His parents, while certainly not abusive, seemed to Allan to show nothing more than indifference. Sick and disillusioned with his birth country, Allan emigrated to Britain, where he has lived in virtual solitude. The host has now invited him to dinner, much to Allan's own surprise. JediMaster12
I guess there is no more room is there? Let me know if I can come in Tsy.
Tysyacha
There may not be any more room for the guest roles, but there's always room for servants--others who have lost the Exchange and are trying to warn the guests before it's too late!
