SW01
Much as I would like to play this game, and was looking forward to seeing Rome rendered for AC, I won't be buying for any platform while that permanent Internet nonsense remains in place. Darth Payne
Got the Codex Edition in the mail today. One of the extras in that edition is the Drachen armor. ACII players will remember the Helmschmied armor parts from that game, the Drachen armor is a Full armor set made by the same company/armorer. And it looks most impressive. Haven't tried the two single player areas that came with the Codex Edition yet. On another note... Much as I would like to play this game, and was looking forward to seeing Rome rendered for AC, I won't be buying for any platform while that permanent Internet nonsense remains in place. On single player, i haven't been told to connect to the internet, yet. Haven't tried multiplayer so far though. So, i don't think there is a 'Permanent internet Nonsense'. I could be wrong though. DarthParametric
That's the PC DRM which they introduced in AC2. The PC version of Brotherhood isn't coming out until next year anyway, so you'll be waiting a while regardless of whether you want to buy it or not. Mav
I thought Ubi decided to nix that version of their "anit-piracy", meh. I get AC for my PS3 anyway, I picked up this and I'm having a blast.

Darth Payne
Has anyone else noticed the guides over at GamesRadar yet? The game has been out around 5 days and already there are three guides up at that site.
Lynk Former
That's like that with a lot of games... there's inevitably be someone on the net who plays the first run-through with guide making as a guide... or they've simply gone through whatever official guide has been released and put it into their own words/style to publish on the net. Darth Payne
I've done something similar a few times. Though, instead of jumping up i tend to jump sideways, usually the way i came.

Ctrl Alt Del
Kinda cool glitch: Indeed. It's also nice there's no apparent lag.

DarthParametric
Indeed. It's also nice there's no apparent lag.I noticed in both AC1 and AC2 that they use some fairly aggressive LOD scaling to keep the framerate up, but most of it is fairly seamless (more so in AC2). You can see a bit of pop-in in that video though.
Rake
Any impressions? I've been wanting to get this, but I decided to wait for a price drop. Is it better than AC2? Is it essential to the Assassin's Creed storyline?
Lynk Former
I like it just as much as I liked AC2... basically it's pretty much an expansion to AC2 than anything else even though it does have some new elements and some slight gameplay tweaks... kind of what Mario Galaxy 2 is to the first. That's not a bad thing, it's a very good game and there's a ****tonne of stuff to do in it. And yes... it's essential to the AC story. Don't be fooled, just because it doesn't have 3 at the end doesn't mean this is something you should miss out on because you may think it's a side story... it's not. It is essential. *nods*
Ctrl Alt Del
You can see a bit of pop-in in that video though. Yeah, truth to be told, though, I don't think they ever expected players get this kind of overview. But that kinda goes without saying.

Lynk Former
I found that bit pretty easy actually... don't think about where you're going, just push forward and let stuff happen. It doesn't actually take very long.
