Adding new VO Files

Be nice... MachineGunFunny, basically there's a few things we need to know.

 

-How is this dialog started? Do you have to talk to a NPC? Or maybe walk through a certian area?

 

-You said you spliced them so is it just text or is it text and voice? (I'm thinking text and voice)

 

-Is the PC present for the conversation? Or is he involved in the conversation?

 

That is what we will need to know to start helping.

It is text and voice, and the player talks to them by talking to them, and is present for the conversation.

 

I already know how to use the dialouge editor, my problem is what to name the completed VO files and where to put them in the directory.

That tutorial is outdated. This one is much more up to date and makes for much better lipsynching.

 

As for the file names, I find following the game's system just makes for really long names. Usually I name it in accordance to the character and the general area they're in, so for your mod I'd do something like tar03_gadon01, tar03_gadon02, etc. (Though you might want to do something more specific to avoid conflict, maybe use the initials of your username as a prefix so it'd be mgf_tar03_gad01).

 

And in my experience you can just stick your custom voice overs in the StreamWaves folder and they'll work (put your .LIP files in the Override).
