Zx2
on the zone site, if u go to downloads, there is an official 1.1 patch.... that probably means that they have finished writing the game and that it just needs to be touched up this is complete speculation, but hopefully it means the game will go gold soon
Walker of Sky
Yeah, here are the exact words from the page........ The 1.1 update fixes several minor bugs from the original game. An issue with selecting the Modify feature after deselecting Full Install has been fixed. A crash in the editor has been eliminated. Wookiee Carbon collection and Rebel Farming have their proper bonuses, and Heavy Artillery does correct damage. If the update cannot locate the game on your system, you must first reinstall the game. Note that you must run the game after installing the update before playing on the Zone! Looks like they already knows what needs to be fixed and might have the game, overall, finished. And what exactly is this Wookie Carbon Collection? Like little carbonite wookie toys or something? And this Rebel Farming?
TheJackal
hum... guys read what it says! it's for galatic battlegrounds. they just copied and pasted it untill the game gets shipped or when there is a patch. why is that site up then? because you are not supposed to so it and its just a temporary. just like that demo page at the lucasarts web site a while back. MuRaSaMuNe
They also said on the chat that they're very close to completion yay geehus How close are you guys to going gold? Kevin S Very close.
hahadude
When talking about going gold, very close can have many different meanings. Considering how long it takes to make games, very close still could be 2 months. I think that the game will come out right on time though. I don't think they would release it early even if it was done. One more month is nothing though considering i've been waiting for one game for 3 years, (Warcraft III). +Nimbus+
Please explain to me what going "Gold" is? What does it mean?
Boba Rhett
It means the game can now be reproduced and distributed. I think it came about because the final cd is gold but I could by way way off. *reads the rest of the thread* *falls off chair, laughing hysterically*
Brick
I mock thee, hahadude, even as I give my warm welcome unto thee! Thine short three year suffering is naught compaired to the five years I've been waiting for Freelancer...
Qel
The best news of this coming week would be this..... "Star Wars® Jedi Knight® II: Jedi Outcast™ Gone Gold! LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC is pleased to announce that STAR WARS Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast has Gone Gold and is now approved for manufacturing. Jedi Outcast will hit shelves the week of March 25th" I guess we will just have to wait and see....sigh.... Qel

Ok, no doubt a dumb question, but doesn't going gold mean a certain number of copies have been sold or pre-ordered? uhh......Carrie Fisher rocks! Qel
What Boba Rhett said is right and it has nothing to do with the number of copies being sold(I believe u are thinking about music sales like platinum, gold ,such and such, Jubei2051) Qel
Wacky_Baccy
Pinched from TimeGate.com (whoever they are...) What does it mean when we hear a game has gone "gold" ? This means that a Gold Master has been approved by the publisher for duplication. In practical terms, this means that both TimeGate and our publisher have put their "stamp of approval" on the finished game and we burn a CD to send to be duplicated. Rhett was right (I never doubted him for a second! ...Honest!... )
