I see absolutely minimal talent in rap...

My sister says the talent is the free..rap...stuff...where they make it up as they go and make it ryhme...oooo, they do that on "Who's Line Is It Anyway?"

Heh, I just realized that

My day just got so much better knowing I can compare those rap junkies to Collin...

Rock all the way baby!!!! Man, I can't stand rap!!! And I hate hanging with people that blast that bull****, because all the different rap "artists" sound the same. And they all sing about the same ****, and they have no talent. I just can't figure out how it has gotten so popular....

Rap blows. Ever notice in all their videos they have the chicks with bulging asses waving them around and grinding against crap? Doesn't matter what they're singing about. The song doesn't even have to have anything to do with sexuality but there's that chick shakin' her ass. Rock just seems more creative to me. Sure, we got our violent songs too but then there's tons of bands out there that actually have content in their songs. Go take a look at Iron Maiden's lyrics if you want to see what I mean. All their songs tell some sort of tale. 'The Flight of Icarus', for example. That's a real greek myth they're singing about. Every single one of their songs are a ballad of sorts that tell some kind of mythical story be it based on real myths out there or ones they made up. Cradle of Filth is a nother good example. Their lyrics are downright satanic but they too tell excellent little stories. It just seems to me that rock gets a bit more creative, especially when you start getting into the gothic genre. Cradle of Filth, Tristania, Theatre of Tragedy. All those bands sing about despondant yet creative things, and the way they incorporate their sounds is simply brilliant. Electric guitars, your typical growling and screaming, mixed in with the brilliant and beautiful singing almost opera-like voice of a mistress, with the sounds of full orchestras bleeding into the atmosphere. Go download Tristania - A Sequel of Decay or Lacrimosa - Sanctus and you'll see what I mean.

give the rappers a break guys. I mean, it Does take SOME talent to rap. Some guy could screw up and wear the wrong colored jumpsuit, or wear 1 gold chain too short.

And when they do that thing with there hand, when they are shaking it or whatever they do, it looks like they are trying to shake a bugger off of their finger.

(I hate rap, by the way)

I was ambiguous about rap until last year when I was woken up many many times by the horrible bass that comes with rap. It travels through anything. Earplugs have no effect. I didn't listen to it, but I didn't have a problem with it. Now I actively dislike it.

I like good rock, but I'm not a huge fan of what I like to call 'depressed teen rock', which generally goes for pure shock value, and lacks any really interesting way of coming across. I have a few songs from that genre, but for most of the bands, if you've heard one song, you don't really need to listen to others...

Now Oingo Boingo...there's a good band. Good sound, and remarkable lyrics...Danny Elfman is good in so many ways...
