Boy o boy everyones got an opinion. :) Based on my experience there is a direct correlation between educaton level, number of children, and child attitude. I see so many unfit parents running around buying their fat little kids PS2's and Twix bars when you KNOW they cant afford it.

I'm 23. At about that marrying age & one of these days I'll do it & adopt if the subject of kids ever comes up. Im sure it's much easier said than done, but my kid will get a good education, will get all his needs fufilled & will learn value & respect.

I agree there are too many punkass kids running around doing whatever they feel. Tough love can fix that IMO, but you can nip it before it starts with responsible parenting.

my $0.02 :)

FYI, everyone, I pruned a few of the "crap" posts out of this thread. This is actually a somewhat intelligent discussion and I plan to keep it that way.

Besides, I have no patience for people posting one-liner, off-topic posts, just to raise their post count

i gotta agree with some of you

Im only 16 but ive noticed some little smart-mouthed brats have authority problems, and i cant go outside and skateboard, or hackysack or even ride my godammned bike without one of the runny nosed lil punks saying "c'mere ill kick your ass". and what do i do about it? i go over there, and show them how do respect those who are older than you. Dont get me wrong, i wasnt no angel child either, but i didnt go around starting fights, my mother tought me better. I have(had) a very brunken and abusive father, and i really wasnt allowed to say anything close to back talk. All i know is that im gunna have a ball with the new freshmen next school year. I used to meet my ex at the middle school and all the 8th graders are "posers" and such wearing black and spitting, being disrespectful and the likes, I just about kicked one in the back of the head for what he said to my girlfriend. .....which reminds me...little kids are fast....

What I think it is with kids now a days is that the parents didnt bring them up to show respect to anyone, there are parents who spoil their children, who would never think of raising their voice to their child, let alone raising their hand to give them punishment. things are going in the wrong order nowadays, i think it should be, fall in love, marriage, jobs, house, better jobs, savings accounts THEN children. opposed to "OH MY GOD IM PREGNANT", then marriage/baby, then jobs/saving. Having a baby should not be something you avoid, a so-called "side effect" of sex. It should be something planned, then developed. not the other way around. (assuming there is any planning after the baby is born)

And let us not forget the school system these days, were all so worried about being bombed or shot at, that they're not focusing on behavior problems in children "oh just give them some Ridalin, they'll be FIIIIIIIINE" I strongly disagree with chemical changes, weather its illegal/illicit drugs, or drugs you pick up at your pharmacy, i dont think its right. And its not a religion thing with me either, for all i care 'God' is that bird that i saw get hit by a car earlier today, but thats just me..... But alas, im taking 3 different types of anti-depressants to keep me from hanging myself with a guitar string, lol ironic eh?

anyway, back to the lil kids. The only way that i can come up with is that we destroy all 9 yrs and under and start fresh, sound like a plan...................................?

girlfriend sitting next to me sarcastically says: "Im Glad you decided to end on a good note, Ian  "

by the way, everything above is just part of my inane rambling..

EDIT: by the way again, the new film Road to Perdition was filmed down the street from my house!! cool huh?

thanks for reading

now, don't go and waste a perfectly good guitar string!

:D

I wanted to commit suicide at one time because of little punk kids. (I was their age, BTW) They used to make fun of me for being "big." I went home cryin one day and low and behold, Star WarsIV was on and I decided I wanted to live.

Kinda gives new meaning to the title:

"A New Hope"

But, don't even joke about stuff like that. seriously.
