Not sure if you guys have heard of this story but I will sum it up. A baseball player, Ted Williams, died of a heart attack and multiple strokes. Determinig what to do with his body has started this family fued. His step-son wants to use cryonic's freezed to preserve his dad so that he can "play baseball again in a hundred years". The rest of the family said that Ted had always said that his wish was to cremeated and his ashes spread all over the florida keys where he liked to fish. The courts now have to decide what to do. What do you guys think??? Should they freeze him???

Ah, the whole thing is a massive right wing conspiricy, You see They freeze Ted Williams' body and wait a 100 years, then they clone him so he can be a soldier for the FreeMason revolution. Then they'll use their time Machine and make sure that Bill Buckner doesn't **** up Mookie Wilson's ground ball in the 86 World Series, which will cause a great socialist Revolution in 2031..

In other words: No

Nobody, who hasn't expressed the will to be frozen before their death, should be cryogenically frozen.

First of all, their is the probability, I mean possibility, that their bodies will be exploited in the name of science, fame, or wealth (i.e. selling DNA to cloning Scientists for money!).

Secondly, The person in question may have lived a good life and want the "Peace and rest", and not have to worry about being re-animated a hundred years from now (I don't think that it is possible, but am using it for the sake of arguement).

And Thirdly, it is extremely expensive on the family's and deceased's funds/life insurance/estate to keep, there is an monthly/yearly upkeep cost, someone's body cryogenically frozen. That is money that could be used for Children's/grandchildren's college funds, endorsement of the arts etc...

Of course, if the person expressed the will to be frozen while they were still alive, then more power to them. Good luck being a freezer-pop! :D

Yes, I have to agree with all above me. The son is a toal bastard. All he really wants to do is preserve that glorious baseball-playing DNA, and sell it to scientists for whatever reason. I mean if you had a famous dead relative, and you could do it wouldn't you? The only reason I am against it is that he expressed that he would like to be cremated, and everybody but one person in his family says he should. So what is really the right thing to do? That's right.

BURN HIM!!! :D

can u imagine....here you are this dead baseball star...you lived a good rich life...the last years were kinda tough, but now finnaly you are at piece OR SO YOU THOUGHT 100 years later you wake up to find that the earth looks like "Star Wars" or whatever it will look like when they finnaly un-freeze him. You're like "wait...this isn't heaven.....AHHHH" All the people you once knew were all dead, you have no family - and baseball doesn't exsist in the same "form" as you once knew it. You realise that you are broke and have no where to live. Earth no longer exists and they drained all the funds to keep you a popcicle. How do you fly a space ship??

Okay I got a little carried away!! But you get the picture...the world will change a lot...and if this guy didn't want to be frozen...then why should he got an UNFROZEN wake-up call in a hundred years.

His son is a piece of ****. Ted Williams was the greatest hitter of all-time and he wants to turn into an icepop? To harvest his DNA? To "bring him back" a hundred years from now? EXCUSE ME. John Henry Williams needs a full frontal lobotomy. He needs to learn to respect his father and what his father did for the game of baseball. And he needs to stop thinking with this goddamn wallet.

Punk.
