GameCube, PS2, and X-Box

ok, im probly getting one of those before summer ends, and i was just wondering which one you would get. they all look pretty neat to me, so i need your help deciding. if you could post a few good games for the one you voted for it would help alot. thx

Yeah, I like PS2 because they have more games,and the future of it looks good. On the other hand though you can't beat Nintendo franchise games like Mario,Zelda, and Metroid.

PS2.. you can play the old PS1 games, theres way more (and higher quality IMO) games out for the PS2 now. With a few mods you can get it on the Internet. Then there's the whole Linux PS2 project, etc etc etc.

If thats true Carl then get PS2. It may have been around for a lot longer than the others, but it has the best games ever - there's such a wide variety of different titles...plus MGS2, Devil May Cry and GTA3 are some of the best titles ever, on PS2. XBOX is definitely the worst, and Gamecube needs better games.

if you like rpgs the best i suggest ps2 case game cube dosen't have that much but GC has more like multiplayer type games that is why i got it

Personally I would choose GameCube, because there's going to be a lot of good games coming from LEC like The Clone Wars, Bounty Hunter, RTX Red Rock, Gladius and there's already Rogue Squadron II which alone would justifice buying this console. Of course all these games(except RSII) are also going to be available for PS2 AND you can watch DVD videos with it unlike in the case of GameCube; I already have DVD player, so that's not important part to me and besides, it has much better image quality.

 

Then again, X-Box has Gladius, Emperor's Tomb(next Indy game, also available for PS2), Star Wars: Galaxies(also available for PS2), Knights of the Old Republic, Jedi Starfighter(also available for PS2), Halo and of course, you can watch DVD videos with it.

 

All in all, you could think that PS2 is your best bet, but I'd go for quality over quantity and because PS2 is the oldest of the pack and can't do all the latest effects like GameCube and X-Box, why don't you make your choice between these two?

There only seems to be good star wars games on the gamecube but overall the ps2 wins. IMO

ok sorry it took so long, im not allowed to go on from 9:00am to 3:00pm, stupid rule anyways i like flight sims, shooters and sometimes racing games.

yeah my pc is ok now, its home built, but my dad at lunch 2 days ago was like "ok son, were getting a PS2, X-Box, or GameCube this summer" so i said "cool" i was offered a game system ok! you dont say "no thats ok, id be better off with an N64 and a pc" do you?

XBOX - the PS2 is at the end of it's development cycle, there is no real room for improvement for graphics on it. XBOX is under 12 months old - it took until GT3 to come out for the PS2 to make it big with the general public.................... (How many of u PS2 fanboys actrually remember that)

 

For long term playability - go with the XBOX, will be around longer than the PS2, and is developer friendly since it is very similar to the PC - meaning less development costs for cross platform games............

yeah thats true but i have 8 year old brother and sister, so i dont think my mom and dad would want them playing M games when were not home

erm... not really, the xbox will probably die out since they're bring out xbox 2 before 2006 and ps2 will last long, i mean look at the ps1 it lasted for ages and it ws brought out in 96, soem people still use them.
