All the films were so great in their own ways.

 

EP IV- You get that first visit to the incredible galaxy that GL created.

 

Ep V- It has a great storyline, the C-3PO/Han Solo dialogue is hilarious, and you learn the startling secret about Darth Vader. The battle of Hot is extraordinary.

 

Ep VI- You see how shrouded with secrecy the Emperor is, you see Luke take on dozens of Jabba's goons with his saber alone for the first time. You also get to see a Luke rematch with Vader. Vader redeems himself.

 

Ep I- You see how things were "before the dark times, before the Empire". You see how force sensitive Anakin really is. You also get introduced to a cool new Sith and see how the Emperor slowly rises to power.

 

EP II- You learn of a new Fett, Anakin starting his path towards the Dark side, the origin of stormtroopers, and yet another new sith. Palpatine becomes even more powerful, and Yoda throws down with Dooku!

My vote went for them all. If you held a lightsaber to my head and told me to be more specific, I would say Episode V, because that was the pivotal point of the OT. Vader reveals that he is Luke's father. Leia tells Han that she loves him for the first time. Luke begins his training as a Jedi. And we learn that there is "another".:D

They were all really good but I think that Empire Strikes Back was the best. It added alot of action and set up a cliffhanger for Return of the Jedi.

 

But all of them have there good points.

 

:amidala: : Episode I gives backround into the seires, not to mention it gets the Star Wars story going.

 

:clone: : Episode II is filled with incredible action sequences and Lightsaber Duels. It show Anakin Skywalker beginning to turn from noble Jedi to destructive Sith

 

:tie:Episode IV brings about Luke Skywalker's joining the Rebel Alliance and the Destruction of the Death Star. I like this movie the least.

 

:atat:Episode V was my favorite. As I said above it creates a cliffhanger for Return of the Jedi and add alot of tension to the Star Wars Galaxy. It is also the training of Luke Skywalker by Master Yoda.

 

:deathii:Episode VI finishes the second trilogy in the Star Wars Saga. It completes Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker's destiny by bringing balance to the Force.

 

I hope you didn't think this was too dull. Thanks for reading it.

I'd say Episode II, without a doubt. The movie is just... a work of art. It's the cinema equivalent of the Sistine Chapel. You could take any scene from that movie and hang it in a museum. Lucas is a master craftsman, he knows the medium like nobody ever has, and ILM has the artisans to carry out his vision.

Ep. 1 : The only great thing is the Obi-Qui-Maul duel. Everything else is just "Ok". We don't see enought of the space battle to call it "great".

 

Ep. 2 : Lots of Jedi action!!! And we finally see some of the temple!!! But where the heck is my space battle??? Obi vs Jango is not as thrilling as the second death star battle...

 

Ep. 4 : It's great because it's the first movie! The story is good too, but the beginning on Tatooine is waaay too long...

 

Ep. 5 : Probably the best of the Star Wars. Great story (Vader-Luke), an incredible battle (Hoth), and the first "good" saber battle of the classic movies.

 

Ep. 6 : Really good too, but again the Tatooine part is long and not so good... The space battle is one of the best.

 

My favourite is Empire Strikes Back, followed by Attack of the Clones (because of Dooku!!!).

Darth, Empire Strikes Back has no space battle, unless you count the Empire's fleet chasing the Falcon, which is nowhere near as exciting as the Obi-Wan/Jango dogfight in AotC...

 

But I do think you captured my main problem with TPM with your summaries of ANH and RotJ... Tatooine just saps the life out of a Star Wars movie, hense the two that have Tatooine the least (it's not in ESB and only in AotC for about 15 minutes) are the best ;)

Well Tatooine is basically the ghetto of the Galaxy and who likes the ghetto anyway. So of course you get a bit turned off by it. Except for in ep2 when Ani is traveling on the swoop and you see parts of Tatooine that youve never seen before. Wow all those cool deep wierd rocky places with all the neat cassams and formations. Also seen in the distance in the Tuskan camp scene. That turned me right back on. All that Dune Sea and flat land stuff is an eyesore. But thats how that stuff is and your supposed to hate it anyway. Oh there was some of the really cool scenery in the ep1 pod race. One of my favorite parts in ep1. All the movies are superior!

I *meant* to say this : Where the heck is the battle with spacecrafts???

 

Battle of Hoth is what I call "a battle with spacecrafts"

Episode V all the way. Empire was the best Star Wars movie. You got all that you would want lightsaber battles, Space,Turmoil, and don't forget one of the most intreeging plots known to man. Empire just revolutionized every film today. Special effects wise and story wise. But all of the filmes are sweet! :atat:

The first time I saw Ep 1, I thought the final fight was just awesome. But after looking at it for about 30 times in a row, I realized that they are a little bit fake... In some scenes, it is clear that Obi could have it Maul, but he didn't...

 

Ep 2's battles are great. But I saw the movie only 3 times (by now), so maybe they are like Ep 1's.

 

Ep 4 and 5 are too slow in my opinion. But Ep 6's one is pretty good (even if it's slow too...).

 

Anyway, we can still hope to have a great duel between Obi and Ani in Ep 3!!!
