Sivy Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 This is a hard one - When it comes to skill, it tough because they had different styles. Luke just hacked away, which wasn't very pretty to watch. Yoda definitely was the funniest as he just kept hopping about like a frog. Dooku was very skilled in an old fastioned, fencing sort of way. Qui-gonn and Anakin were both very good. Well I going say........ Obi-Wan, yeah!
PhantomHelix Posted August 10, 2002 Posted August 10, 2002 darth maul all the way! it takes an insane amount of skill in order to weild a double-sided lightsaber. if you forget that one side is one and you try a single-bladed lightsaber maneuver, chances are youre gonna need a prosthetic leg, cause youre gonna cut your own off.

ibballin Posted August 12, 2002 Posted August 12, 2002 imo yoda was the best but as far as who look the coolest my vote goes to maul. he was doing crazy things and fighting two great jedis and plus when maul fought qui gon on tattoine(i think thats where they fought) maul would have killed qui gon if qui didnt leave.

OK he hasnt been seen on camera fighting that much, but i got a feeling that he will feature heavily in EP3. I'll tell you why too.... I managed to find a Sunday supplement with thhe newspaper that had loads of info about AoTc, There was a very in depth article about the different jedi's and the 'FORMS' that they employ in combat. hold on I'll find the article..... Right I'm back... this is from the article:- "Mace Windu is the best lightsaber fighter in the Jedi Order and a master of form VII combat - the most aggressive used by the Jedi" Now OK maybe I shouldnt believe everything I read in the newspapers but this Sunday Supplement was really in-depth and as far as i could tell everything written was dead right. Oh another quote from the article that amused me:- Samuel L Jackon Emailed his trainer 'Gillard' for the saber fight scenes with this message:- "If you don't, I will strike down on thee with great vengeance and fury and you will know my name is Mace" something tells me SLJ took the saber battle very very seriously, Good on him!

The question is "WHO IS THE BEST WITH THE SABER" not "whos your favorite jedi" shees, all you who voted for obi wan need to read the name of the thread again. dooku barely tried and defeated obi wan. he had a little trouble with anikin, but yoda had him licked, and if he had no escape, cut him in half yoda would do.

Sivy Posted August 12, 2002 Posted August 12, 2002 Maul was never beating Obi-Wan! It was Maul with the cheap shot, he had use a force push because obi was out duelling him. Plus in Ep III, I think we'll see the best lightsaber duel of all. Obi vs Anakin, and who wins that?
Arkum Posted August 12, 2002 Posted August 12, 2002 Yeah, Obi had Maul against the ropes. Maul had to use force push to get him out of his way. Obi was fast and aggressive. Yoda just jumped around a lot. And Dooku is skilled in an old fashioned way of dueling, so is Yoda (since he trained Dooku). and Obi will probably own Anakin in Ep III.
