4. If it's in french with english subtitles.

8. Was formerly a cartoon.

9. Based on a video game.

10. Based on a monster first concieved in the '80's

11. Anywhere in the description contains any combination of the words: "thrill ride", "laugh-a-minute", "Scarier than".

12. "Siskel and Roper" give it two thumbs up!

13. Has a quote from a review from a small town paper.

20. Based on DC comic characters.

Re: #1 - add the late Chris Farley to that list ... and probably others ...

Re: #2 - that is more subjective. I will admit that I *did* love Fried Green Tomatoes, and Cider House Rules, even if it doesn't compare watching Empire Strikes Back on Fox (why? even though I have the videos?) while playing JKII during the commercials in the weeks before AotC came out...

Re: #4 - see above.

Re: #8, 9, 10 ... too true ...

Re: #11, 12, 13 - Expand that to include any movie that advertises with rave reviews *BEFORE* it is released, and the earlier the shower of praise starts, the worse the movie is bound to be. I think some movies had longer anticipation periods than theater runs ...

Re: #20 - and from what I've read, WB is going to add to its' butchering with Batman vs Superman, and possibly also take on more things like early Batman, Batman Beyond, and more. Too bad ... I loved the original Nicholson/Keaton movie.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Is really, really bad. We saw that, were really big Twin Peaks fans, but it was just plain bad.

Dude, I couldnt review that movie if I tried. I watched it with my girlfriend, and I didnt understand what the hell I was looking at. At all. Ever.

I loved the Blair Witch Project, though. People have been spoiled into wanting to see blood and gore in scary movies. Blair Witch took a different turn. I admit, its not for everyone, but I loved it.

What I hated: Army of Darkness.

GOD, I hate that movie!!!! Sooooooo friggin bad!!!! ARG! Awful overacting, stupid plot, halfass special effects (those skeletons at the end were a joke). I cant stand any movie with Bruce Campbell in it, he annoys me. Everything he says, he sounds like he's trying to be a 1920s gangster...

i totally agree (although the blair witch made my feel sea sick), I think the more bloodier and gorier they try to make it, the more ridiculous it is.

Bring back the hitchc0ck style i say!

My wife reminded me that the only thing we understood was that the characters were familiar, we were compelled to watch from being nuts of the TV series, and that the sex was quite erotic ...

Blood and gore does not make a movie scary. What makes a movie scary for me is Sudden mood changes,(Psycho) clever lighting(The Shining), Great characters(The Shining), spooky noises(The Changeling), creepy music(The Amittyville Horror). Most of the best horror movies were made in the 70's. I have to disagree with you on Blair Witch though. That movie was about cheap parlor tricks and juvenile hokem. Phooey!

In my opinion the scariest movie of all time is The Exorcist. That movie is how old and is still scaring the *hit of people to this day. It didn't need a knife, ax, or guy with a mask. In it's time people saw stuff that they had never seen before. The movie is just freaky and will mess with you're mind. You will never think of stairs the same way ever again. People who are older now still won't see it because they remember the bad dreams or want to be able to sleep and not have images pop in there head and suffer from insomnimia(sp?) That is my opinion of what the scariest movie of all time. View's may differ:p
