I do like *both* Cantina songs ... I was afraid that JKII wouldn't feature any Cantina music, after JK1 put it so prominantly in the first level ... my kids like it more, it is for them that I keep it on my iPod.

However, I have to say that there are two pieces of music that JKII has really brought me to love - the Lando's Palace, and the emperor's throne room part of the Endor battle suite. Especially the Cloud City music - in JKII I found it so breathtaking as it was part of the game I was so swept up in, that hearing it in TESB was almost anti-climactic.

Fav besides Duel Of Fates, is the Duel Begins on ROTJ. I also like the music played when Admiral Ackbar screams, "It's a trap! " Ambush. Death Star shoots.

P.S. Great thread! I think I'll pop in my ROTJ 2-CD soundtrack. Over 30 of John Williams' awesome music!

Do do do doo do do.......

I was listening to RotJ stuff on my iPod this morning.

I really like the final celebration piece as well. Excellent thematic development - start with the Ewok village, add a single thread of joy - joy, not triumph, represented by a small voice, the flute, not a trumpet - and then start a call and response section with the children's voice chant - again, small voices, not big & strong - which is like the call being sent across the galaxy, that everything is OK, and then finally the orchestra comes over the top of it all with a variation - like the coming of new hope & power, a start with a new challenge call. It lasts just a few seconds and then the end titles.

The end titles music is quite interesting as well. RotJ is good, as it recaps the many themes, but to me isn't particularly interesting as an individual listen. Not like TESB, anyway. That is very good - but then so is a lot of the music. My only complaint is that it seems Williams wrote it as aconcert piece instead of the end of a movie. So - the movie does not end happily, and that is what happens musically, but at the end of the titles all of a sudden there is a traditional classical symphonic ending. Episode II's end titles rock ... excellent restating of the themes, ending on a very serious and forboding, almost sorrowful theme ... perfect complement to the movie, and truly enderstanding itself as a movie piece, not a concert piece ...

I literally listen to the Imperial March about five to ten times a day... every day... every week...

Does this answer your question? :D

I hear the song in my sleep, I had a dream where this evil person of some kind was speaking and doing evil things and I was there, and the song was playing in the background. It was cool :o

The asteroid belt theme hands down. :) Next up is the original Max Reelo (I think thats his name, the blue grimace dude in Jabbas Palace in ROTJ) band's song. It hd a decideely alien feel to it which really helped out the atmosphere of the scene IMO.

Dont get me started on George's rewrites... :) Greedo shot 1st & the new Jabba band.. oy vey.
