New Jedi Order Mod :

 

 

I'd really like to create a NJO mod for a few reasons :

 

- NJO books really add to the SW universe.

- New technology.

- New characters.

- there is curently no njo mods being developed.

- I think this part of the eu should be represented.

 

 

 

 

Basically here are my plans for the mod :

 

- Add Yuuhzan Vongs (YV) :

* can't see them through the force.

* aren't affected by the force (or much less).

* they are more resistant than jedis.

 

- YV's bio weapons :

* amphistaff (can spit venom too and use them like a whip too).

* thud bugs (small homing insects which are throwed to an opponent ).

* ooglith masquers (can disguise as a human //will surerly be an item).

 

- Jedis :

* ordinary weapons removed.

* njo weapons added (which are seen in Star By Star mostly).

* choose their saber style(1 saber /2 sabers / double bladed / extendable saber).

 

- Objective based gameplay :

* Jedi team vs Yuuzhan Vongs team.

* objectives like RTCW (saga type maps).

 

I aim to create a fun and balanced mod.

 

 

I'm a coder and i will be able to code this but i'm in dire need of :

 

* mappers : to create saga type maps (not necessary njo books places but would be better).

* modelers : diferent YV and the young jedi knights (Anakin,Jacen,Jaina,Zekk,Kyp or others...).

: new weapons.

* skinners : same as above.

* sound artist : well the characters, the missions sounds, annd everything else.

* web designer : a web site :).

* etc...

* but a coder could still help me :)

 

 

So i m currently the only one in the team :)

 

 

So what do you think ?

Any comments, suggestions, flames ?

this idea kicks ass, me and my friends always play NJO rpgs on the zone...

 

I read Traitor a few weeks ago..i've gotta say it kicks ass..

and when you're finished with it i think the things discusses should be included in the mod (hint- jacen being able to feel the vong through the force =0 )

that's ok cause it's not this important but still.

 

i wanted to let players to have a lightsaber with a lembent and then see vongs like with force see but in black ....

and we will code new thud bugs not replace det packs or something....

THe books were good, I have to say I thought Traitor was a little wierd, Rebel Stand was excellent. How are you doing the amphistaff? I think you should make two weapons, first is a whip mode amphistaff, second is the pike mode, both shoot venom as secondary. Either that or the whip mode shoots venom, and there's a secdonary swing for the pike.

 

Hmmm, how are you handling Anakin's death?

btw it's a mp mod ...

 

even if anakin is dead i think we will model it and he will be playable

 

 

for the amphistaffs well the hard form won't be a problem but the whip might be difficult , but we will find a way :)

 

and put into spoiler brackets the last part of your post !

:cool: On amphistafs, a way to wimp out would be to have 2 seperate weapons based on the same model. One would be the Staff version, alt-fire as the Whip, the secon would be the Venom-spitter version. IMHO the venom (or it's alt fire) should have a stunning effect likt the probe-droids.

 

back to thud-bugs, there's a bit of code in the Shuriekn mod that lets the weapon (it's a model) stick to walls when it hits. I'll see if I can do a demo or something.
