First off, the Fandango is a dance

the fact that souls are trapped in the 8th underworld untill they pay their dept means that they are 'forced to dance this grim fandango...' as olivia would say

get to the blue casket and make olivia do a poem...eventually she will say something along the lines off..

Grim Fandango

With bony hands I hold my partner,

on soulless feet we cross the floor.

The music stops as if to answer,

an empty knocking at the door.

It seems his skin was sweet as mango,

when last I held him to my breast.

But now we dance this grim fandango,

and will four years before we rest.

Olivia Ofrenda

so grim fandango basically means sad dance/journey

(can not remember

song or performer)

there is an old tune

swing jazz, big band,

film noir era singing

of tripping the Light Fandango

which really echoes into

Gendo's dito

and Tall Guy's explanation

and Olivia does wax poetically

as such.

plus it just sounds

so good doesn't it?

Grim Fandango.

oh yes rush,

we forget ourselves

greetings and welcome to

the GF forums,

I am the round purple one

and Tall Guy is the coolest Brit

in the UK and one of the

Mod's of our forum,

and Gendo;

well words fall short

of describing his greatness.

these two souls

you have just encountered

are two of the great supreme deities

of the Underworld.

myself I am just court vegetable

but Hey! it's a start.

anyhow welcome aboard,

mayhaps you will stay a while

and dance a grim fandango

with the rest of us here

in the 8th Underworld.

because Manny looks like the Grim Reaper?

The name is so awesome! Don't change it! I bought the game on the basis of it's name, and I loved it. Isn't Grim Fandango an oxy-moron? Since fandango is like a celebratory dance I think. It contradicts itself which makes it have all the more meanings.

Dawidos, I appreciate your efforts to contribute to the discussion and all, but please don't bump age-old posts. This one for example originates from over a year ago - just start a new discussion. It's downright confusing to read what people (including me) said so long ago. :p

I'm sorry. I won't do this again.I promise. I am new at the forum, so I wanted to read old topics -some of them are very interesting for me. But you are moderator, so you decide.

:)
