9/11 - Where Were You?

Yup. It's September 11th, again. It's been one year since...that happened. I saw this thread at GB, and I wonder...do you remember, where were you that day "the day the world stopped turning", arguably the biggest historical event as well as the most public tragedy of most of our lives?

No one expected it...I mean, come on. Who attacks America? The last time that happeneed was Pearl Harbor, and that wasn't mainland America. That hadn't been attacked or invaded since the War of 1812. I think it's safe to say we were caught off guard.

Where were you that day? What were you thinking? What did you do? If you care to, post.

I was in computer class at WEMOCO. WE were misinformed. I did nothing, because I could give a crap less as it affected me in no way.

My first thoughts: Conspiracy (it was a joke at the time), who'd have thought it was true.

What The class was told: The WTC is on fire and the Pentagon is on fire, whoopdeedoo

Although I didn't actually find out what happened until around 1:30 pm.

It was about 10AM, i was finishing some work in my MSoffice class, and that's when the principal came on and told up what happend. us, being in the computer lab, first thought it was a big joke. I was the first to hit FoxNews.com, and to my surprise, it was true. when class was let out, my US History teacher had a TV, and we watched that, amazed. amazed and horrified that someone could do this. of cours,e that day was supposed to be a b-day party in that class.

We ate, but it wasn't a very happy atmosphere.

when i first saw the replay of the Towers falling, i was shocked, horrified, and sad.

Then i thought, "who ever did this, is gonna get an ass kicking from ME".

i have yet to kick a talaban member in the ass.

I was in 1st period English. The teacher wheeled in the TV. and showed us a guy on CNN talking about the attacks. At first I thought they were making a movie, except it was on the news.

Afterwards we had moments of silence and prayers in the classes. I hate to sound insensitive but few of my class mates, actually seemed sad about it. They were more like "Damn that's got to suck" and that's all, to tell the truth I was too. I still am too. It's sad but I personally haven't been affected therefore it'll always remain to me, the tragedy I never truly noticed.

We watched a documentary on it yesterday (9/11) and I'll tel you something, those people didn't sound as paniced as I thought they'd be. Also if you didn't feel bad before, that movie'll make you feel a little worse.

Ah yes I recall that day. I was in school. I walked into earth science and I saw the first tower collapse, then my stupid teacher turned off the TV like nothing was happening and we went back to business as usual. It didn't used to bother me at all but now when I see pictures and slides from that day I have a completely new perspective, and it's important that we always remember what happened and what was lost because of it.

I saw something in the newspaper that brought it even closer to me the other day. It was majorly an American disaster, by those who I thought were just after America. The picture was of a tattered Union Jack, pulled from the rubble of ground zero.

God Bless everyone targeted by evil.
