Harrison Ford

the guy's han solo and indiana jones!

the first films i ever saw was star wars and indiana jones, he so been my hero since i was 5. i even had an indiana jones hat and jacket. i would run around pretending i was being chased by tribesmen, dodging pretend poisonous darts. when i wasn't doing that i would be blasting stormtroppers. those were the days.

i only do that occasionally now.

I did mean real people to start but lets go with the flow...

Homers a good choice termie,

My IRL heroes are:-

David Attenborough:- Brother of Richard Attenborough, this guy has narrated and been involved in undoubtedly the best natural history shows of all time, almost anyone from England will probably back me up here. I can safely say that I learnt more watching his shows than by attending school. (before you say - yes I am pretty well educated)

LTJ Bukem - a musician/DJ nice bloke an inspiration to me. Met him a couple of times and he had no celeb hang ups at all, he chatted to me as if I was a life long mate, I know hardly anyone will have heard of him but in the Drum and Bass scene he is BIG!!! (he invented it)

Maya Angelou - One of the few people on Earth that can talk sense, and what a lovely voice she has. To think she went from being a brothel keeper to being a Nobel prize winner is staggering and shows that even when you are at your lowest ebb you can conquer and achieve!

James Brown:- 70+ years old and still jiving round liek he was 20 his music is a real inspiration to me, and how can you not admire someone who has had a 140 mph chase with the cops in an Aston Martin - What a top fella!!!

In fiction :-

James Bond - What a top geezer, damn flukey s.o.b too!!!

and who wouldn't want to get girls like he has!!!???

probably more to come...

Oh, well, in that case, -

My heroes are Sir Ian McKellen and Alec Guiness/Ewen Mcgreggor.

They are my heroes because They actually know how to ACT, unlike many in Hollywood.

I hope I meet them some day. ;)

(Strange coincidence in the actors-characters, eh?)

My all time favourite hero:-

Steve Bull:- Ex wolves and England player this guy played for Wolverhampton Wanderers for what seemed liek an eternity and if you mention Steve Bull to any Wolves fan it is bound to bring a smile to their face. This guy is an absolute Legend in Wolverhampton. He had the chance to play real top-flight football with the best sides in the country, instead he stayed at Wolves and the fans love him for it. He is and probably always will be the highest scoring player for Wolves with well over 300 league and cup appearences.

I salute you Bully:)

Golda Meir - Former Prime Minister of Israel. Amazing woman who tackled the odds to get where she got and did amazing things for that country.

Xena Warrior Princess - Just a kick ass chick....

Queen Elizabeth - Another woman who went through hell but eventually came out to arguably become the greatest ruler England ever had.

FDR - He da man...

Edgar Allen Poe - Greatest writer of all time. (in my opinion) And I like to consider myself a writer as well and I always look to him for inspiration.

I have had a few hero's here are some...

Peter Singer - Because he dared to question human life v animal life and took a lot of heat for it. He also is a professor at Princeton. Many people think he is insane, I am not one of them.

Chico Mendez - stood up for the Amazon and was killed for his trouble.

"If a messenger from the sky came down and guaranteed that my death would strengthen our struggle, it would be worth it. But experience teaches us the contrary. It's not with big funerals and motions of support that we're going to save the Amazon. I want to live."

— Chico Mendes

Salvador Allende - He was the President of Chile when the Dictator Pinochet took over. Before he was shot dead he went on the radio and asked Chileans to not resist because his last living wish was for his people to live on. When soldiers broke in to the room he was in he refused to give official authority over to Pinochet and was shot.

My Father - he has never failed me in life and is the most caring human I have had the honor of knowing. He busted his butt so that he could move us to the States and away for the above mentioned dictator.

You may laugh at me here but please read the whole post so you understand... why i chose the CROCODILE HUNTER!!!!

seriously, the guy does a respectable job, has little fear (if any) and enjoys his work. who among us can say that much about ourselves? the guy actually makes me want to watch discovery channel. he knows what hes talking about and has a kickass accent (sorry but i love the auzzie accent). im scared to death of some of the animals that this guy playfully tackles and rolls around with. plus he has such fun tackling them animals. i once saw him spend a good 15 minutes chasing down a rat. thats right A RAT! he couldve just gotten another one but NO! he wanted THAT rat. so he chased it down and caught it! unbelievable. (has anybody here seen the one where he jumps off his motorcycle and tackles a goat? i swear i wet myself on that one [ok not really but close])

if you dont like that man, too bad for you because he'll be on television until a croc eats him!

I would like to add the Croc Hunter as one of my Idols. This man is the real Tarzan. And he is one of the few animal rights activists that can kick your @ss if you call him a tree hugging hippy.

jean luc picard:D no, just kiddin on that...

hm, obi wan, as my avatar indicates, i believe he was the coolest old person im a movie:D, and Q(from james bond) runs as the second best old guy in a movie...

in real life, i respect the jewish people very much, not because of their religion, or WWII(directly), but because of their persistance as a race, they have been mastered by group after group, egyptians, nazis, they have been kicked out of their land, enslaved, everything, but they still build up wherever they go, they, as a whole, have made the best when given the worst.

as for a single, real, person, i cannot pinpoint a single hero, maybe later, and if so, ill be sure to post it:D

Real Life: Mike Park. He was the saxophone player for the band Skinkin' Pickle who after the band broke up went to start his own record company: Asian Man Records. This is a man who's now in his early 30's lives out of his parents home running this label while not being on tour with his bands (Alkaline Trio, lots of ska and punk bands). I can't say whether or not his label or bands make alot of money, but I do know he gives nearly every ounce of what he makes to anti racist organizations. He organizes anti racist concert tours, and is quite a talented songwriter. He writings lately have become a little more introspective, but most of his songs still have that good skankin' beat to em. :) I've been reading his journal writings on his site lately. His father recently died from cancer & he sems to be one of the saddest people on the planet, yet he still works his ass off promoting equality & good music. My hat's off to him.

As for my less serious here: definately Harrison Ford. Indiana Jones & Han Solo aside he seems to be a very truthful & sincere person, but that may just be his PR reps talking. :)
