Kstar__2
you know what scares me most, the possibility that he learnt sniping by playing games, the whole games community could be destroyed...
ckcsaber
No way thats possible. He supposedly has a military grade weapon or something. And there is usually kickback when you fire a gun even if its a sniping rifle. I dont think you can learn all that marksmanship stuff from a game
ZBomber
And I believe he left the note on a death tator card. I think they shouldn't realese this to the public. I'm telling you! Hes gonna get away if they keep doing that!

Guest Jed
He's one sick SOB. That man needs to get shot in the head multiple times...bastard, targeting a helpless child... There's no way the gaming community can get destroyed tho. He's supposedly military trained and that's probably where he got the weapon, he's probably an ex-sharpshooter for the US Army. Or someone elses army. Screw the chair, I think he should be hanged. Or guillotine him. Capital punishment should be re-enstated for this maniac. obi
It probably is an ex-military guy gon bonkers. My friend said it was Rambo. It is probably a guy who served in the marines for a long time, and the government did something bad to him, maybe? I dunno.
FatalStrike
I think he is one of two things -An ex US armed forces guy. His use of the .223 calibre round suggests that he could be using a civilian version of the US armies favorite M 16. The fact that he mostly 1 shot 1 kill tell us that the man is a pretty good shot. I do not think that he is a trained "sniper" but has had some training in that field. Wouldn't be surprised if he was a marine they get trained to shoot this very weapon at the ranges that he is using to kill his victims. -A hunter, while I think ex military is more likely hunters also favor the .223 round for its effectiveness in mindlessly killing innocent creatures. I happen to feel all hunters are a little crazy, since they can witness some of the most beautiful of Gods creations and then take pleasure in killing it. I wouldn't be surprised if some crazy hunter has just decided that deer aren't enough of a challenge and has moved on to more difficult prey. Either way the scarey thing is how far we are from catching this bastard. I think that if this guy stopped killing today and just went on with his life we would never find him. Also think of all the other people out there with scores to settle that are seeing how hard it is to find evidence of a sniper. They are too stupid to realize that commiting a crime in which you have motive is always going to get you caught, so they will be out buying sniper rifles the NRA is working its little butt off to keep legal so we can "protect ourselves." I wish someone would tell me how you protect your self from anything with a sniper rifle, since to use one you have to be in position and know before hand the approximate position of your target. Toonces
I'd add a third possibility, he's a domestic terrorist who hates how diverse this country is. Look at his choices of targets and how carefully picked out they are. 7(?) people representing a broad spectrum of how diverse America is, ages ranging from 13-72, men and women, and people of different races. Regardless though, whoever is doing this is a complete lunitic
Weapon X
Originally posted by kstar__2 you know what scares me most, the possibility that he learnt sniping by playing games, the whole games community could be destroyed... allright, i live in the middle of WY and i grew up w/**** loads of guns, and firing a real rifle is a WHOLE LOT different than a game, my dad owns a semi-automatic AR-15 and when you fire that thing there is NO kick to it, and you can get really ****ing accurate w/that thing when firing as fast as you can, i can probably pop off 10-15 rounds in 3-5 seconds and still be very accurate, now if this guy had/has an actual rifle meant for distances then there is probably a feature on the rifle to keep it from kicking too much, it's not uncommon and it is in fact something the military wants/has for their snipers cuz they might need to pop off anywhere from 2-10 rounds and still be accurate, depending on the situation, i don't know what kinda rifle this guy had (maybe a carbine?) but there are SO many differences between real life and games, you haven't shot a real gun have you? not talkin BB or pellet, i'm talkin 30-06, .243, .223, .308, .303, 45 ACP (pistols are inaccurate as hell) one of those (maybe .50?) if you haven't then you don't know what you're talking about, if you have...you still dont' know what you're talking about, i get angry at people who say someone learned his tactics/skills from a game, they don't know what they're talking about and have no basis for their arguments, don't ever say that again

acdcfanbill
Ya, I dont know any hunters who use the AR-15 to hunt, I know a couple who use it for target shooting but thats about it. Its kind of useless weapon unless u intend on killing people. Heh, funny thing is that I feel that people who are severly anti-hunting are a little crazy... but thats just me. Breton
Yep, that's one sick guy. Lock him up and throw away the key. No way he could have learned sniping from games, the only thing he learnes there is that you right click to zoom and left click to shoot. How does he get a sniper rifle anyway??? StormHammer
Yes, it's certainly tragic. My heart goes out to the families who've lost loved ones. As for the games connection - you're right, it's ludicrous, but human nature being what it is, when they catch the one responsible, somebody will probably try and hinge it all on Counter-Strike or something. I can even understand the reasoning behind it...people need to try and rationalise it, and find something to blame for those who turn bad. But sometimes, there is no reason that makes any sense. Some people are just wired wrong. I hope they catch this person soon. AS for hunting, I've got nothing against it, as long as the hunters eat what they shoot. It seems pointless to me otherwise. I mean, who really needs a moose-head stuck to a wall?
obi
But, I like my moose head I agree though, people nowadays try to find a scapegoat for a persons wrong doing. Like, In Greece, the banning of basically all electronic devices to stop online gambling. It's ludicrus.
