I don't really mind people creating new aliens for the movies and EU (there are over ten thousand systems in the Republic, afterall)... but Desaan's one of the worst new species I've ever seen. Hopefully this lone remaining Poserificus will not appear in any sequels/prequels, as extended observation of this species causes extreme agitation and violence in some cases. On second thought, my memory must have failed me. I looked at the picture on Star Wars.com and he doesn't look like Desann. I wonder why I would have remember it that way?
