StormHammer
Originally posted by Flanders I'm bored, we dont get snow-storms in the United Kingdom, I wish we could, because snow is the only thing that makes me feel happy..... We've had plenty of snow blizzards in the UK. It depends a lot on where you're living, too. For example, I used to live in Cardiff city (Wales), and travel up to one of the Valleys to go to work...a trip of about 20 miles. I got on the train in Cardiff and it was glorious sunshine (although not exactly warm), and when I reached the Valley it was snowing very heavily, the mountains were covered, etc. Anyway, you're right that the weather isn't as bad as it used to be. Back in the late 70's and early 80's we had a couple of pretty harsh winters with snow-drifts 10-20 feet high. I remember we had to dig a tunnel through the snow to get out of the house one year... I think the UK is heading for a bit of snow this year...it's cold enough for it.

ET Warrior
We had enough snow for a snow day a long time ago...early september actually. But our Superintendant decided we should go to school anyways. We haven't had snow since. I really hope it snows a lot for christmas.
Darth Talliusc
hahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha an icestorm because you got to leave school early for one day LOL. allow me to tell you a story about ice storm 98. it was so bad that we ended up losing over HALF the trees in my city and we had NO power for 2 whole weeks! we had to call in the army to remove trees who had wrecked power lines etc. now two weeks may not seem that long but when you have no electronic things to do and you're supposed to be in school well, its quite nice i guess people outside of Canada never heard about it but over here it was pretty big. from montreal to ottawa power was goin down all over and we still havent recovered our trees. in my backyard we lost 3 different trees somewhere around their middles and now we're down to 6. for all the destruction it caused it really was very pretty, imagine every single leaf, twig, branch and roof covered with a thick layer of ice. its truly beatiful and we took tons of pictures. if i ever get my scanner working right ill e-mail em to a friend and post the link. oh and for any who were wondering we've had snow since september and i had to get out the snowblower for 2 hours yesterday

I live in Ottawa Ontario. We had a field trip to Gatineau Park, the following year and there were practically no trees lol. It was actually nice without electricity, peaceful almost. It wasn't that cool though caus where I live people died in car crashes in small suburaban areas because of all the ice. And people suffered serious injuries from the ice.
