Dark Warrior
What are some of the best lyrics you have heard in a song? What has hit you the hardest, made an impact on you, or sent something to your heart? One song that hit me hard was "Dance" by Nas Here are the lyrics: One more time, one more time Huh, one more time, huh One more time I dream of the day I could go back to when I was born Laying in your arms, wishing you was here today mom Wish you the pid Just for a second from heaven my tears would be gone I wouldn't be rapping this song I'd be happy driving up to your 8 bed room mansion Ablade, laughing bout the hard time we faced The galaxy is so enchanting beyond, Galileo's understanding Past the milky way and all the planets There's something out there greater But only god knows, scientist claim we came from apes But they lies though, that was part of our conversation I spark went up a star blazing Thinking of how amazing she was A angel gave me love I'm thankful, to ever know a women so real I pray when I marry my wife'll have one of your skillz But mom you could never be replaced I'd give my life up Just to see you one more day To have... [Chorus] One more dance with you mama If I could only have One more dance with you mama Praying, wish that I could have One more dance with you mama If I could only have One more dance with you mama I wish you were here, I miss you more each second I breathe You resting in peace forever I accepted you free A blessing to me, I see you dressed in all white Smiling at me, happy knowing everything's all right If only I could hear your voice and your laughter Just one more time, my chest would be filled up with sunshine April 7, 42 That's when the gates of heaven opened up for you to stroll threw Beautiful Anne Jones Job is done, raising ghetto kids in the hood You was my strength to carry on and now I'm good Job well done, you lived threw you sons and your grandchildren Jesus finally got his bridge, mommy dance with em And you've been my guide threw all the trouble I faced They playing our song the lifebeat my hand on your waist I grab your other hand and try not to step on your toes Spin you around with my eyes closed Dreaming I could have [Chorus] I love you forever mom You will always live threw me ... always Huh, huh huh, yea These lyrics hit me hard. I usually do not listen to rap, but this song is different and it appeals to me. What are some of yours?

Ratmjedi
One song that makes me think is Jimi Hendrix's "Castle's Made of Sand. Let me get the lyrics "CASTLES MADE OF SAND" DOWN THE STREET YOU CAN HEAR HER SCREAM "YOU'RE A DISGRACE" AS SHE SLAMS THE DOOR IN HIS DRUNKEN FACE AND NOW HE STANDS OUTSIDE AND ALL THE NEIGHBOURS START TO GOSSIP AND DROOL HE CRIES "OH GIRL, YOU MUST BE MAD WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SEET LOVE YOU AND ME HAD" AGAINST THE DOOR HE LEANS AND STARTS A SCENE AND HIS TEARS TALL AND BURN THE GARDEN GREEN AND SO CASTLES MADE OF SAND, FALL IN THE SEA EVENTUALLY A LITTLE INDIAN BRAVE WHO BEFORE HE WAS TEN PLAYED WAR GAMES IN THE WOODS WITH HIS INDIAN FRIENDS AND HE BUILT A DREAM THAT WHEN HE GREW UP HE WOULD BE A FEARLESS WARRIOR INDIAN CHIEF MANY MOONS PASSED AND THE DREAM GREW STRONG UNTIL TOMORROW HE WOULD SING HIS FIRST WAR SONG AND FIGHT HIS FIRST BATTLE BUT SOMETHING WENT WRONG SURPRISE ATTACK KILLED HIM IN HIS SLEEP THAT NIGHT AND SO CASTLES MADE OF SAND MELTS INTO THE SEA EVENTUALLY THERE WAS A YOUNG GIRLS WHOSE HEART WAS A FROWN BECAUSE SHE WAS CRIPPLED FOR LIFE AND COULDN'T SPEAK A SOUND AND SHE WISHED AND PRAYED SHE WOULD STOP LIVING SO SHE DECIDED TO DIE SHE DREW HER WHEEL CHAIR TO THE EDGE OF THE SHORE AND TO HER LEGS SHE SMILED "YOU WON'T HURT ME NO MORE" BUT THEN A SIGHT SHE'D NEVER SEEN MADE HER JUMP AND SAY "LOOK A GOLDEN WINGED SHIP IS PASSING MY WAY" AND IT REALLY DIDN'T HAVE TO STOP IT JUST KEPT ON GOING AND SO CASTLES MADE OF SAND SLIPS INTO THE SEA EVENTUALLY It's a good sing that always makes me think. Arreat
Britneys song "hit me baby one more time". I couldn't get the message across when i was little. Though when i though about it as i grew older, I found out what a dirty B@stard she is. Strange how many of her songs with dirty subliminal messages are top hits. ET Warrior
System of a Down has some really neat songs on their new album......my favorite lyrics are in BOOM! I've been walking through your streets Where all your money's earned Where all your building's crying And clueless neckties working Revolving fake lawn houses Housing all your fears Desensitized by TV Overbearing advertising God of consumerism And all your crooked pictures looking good Mirrorism Filtering information for the public eye Designed for profiteering Your neighbor, what a guy Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Every time you drop the bomb You kill the god your child has born Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Modern globalization Coupled with condemnations Unnecessary death Matador corporations Puppeting your frustrations With a blinded flag Manufacturing consent Is the name of the game The bottom line is money Nobody gives a ****! 4,000 hungry children leave us per hour from starvation While billions are spent on bombs Creating death showers Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Every time you drop the bomb You kill the god your child has born Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Why must we kill our own kind? Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Every time you drop the bomb You kill the god your child has born Boom! (X12) Every time you drop the bomb!
ckcsaber
Although this song has very personal lyrics, this song really made me feel happy for John Lennon, finding happiness in Yoko. The lyrics are pretty heavy too. God God is a concept, By which we measure Our pain. I'll say it again. God is a concept, By which we measure Our pain. I don't believe in magic I don't believe in I-Ching I don't believe in Bible I don't believe in Tarot I don't believe in Hitler I don't believe in Jesus I don't believe in Kennedy I don't believe in Buddha I don't believe in Mantra I don't believe in Gita I don't believe in Yoga I don't believe in Kings I don't believe in Elvis I don't believe in Zimmerman I don't believe in Beatles I just believe in me Yoko and me And that's reality. The dream is over, What can I say? The dream is over Yesterday I was the dreamweaver, But now I'm reborn. I was the walrus, But now I'm John. And so dear friends, You just have to carry on The dream is over.

Reb Starblazer
Three Doors Down - Duck and Run To this world I’m unimportant, Just because I have nothing to give. So you call this your free country, Tell me why it cost so much to live? Tell me why then! This world can turn me down, But I won’t turn away, oh no and I won’t turn around. All my work and endless measures, Never seem to get me very far. Walk a mile just to move an inch now, even though I’m trying so damn hard. I’m trying so hard. This world can turn me down, But I won’t turn away. And I won’t duck and run, cause I’m not built that way. When everything is gone, there's nothing there to fear. This world cannot bring me down No cause I’m already here, oh no! I'm already here, Down on my knees. I am already here, on no. I'm already here. I must have told you a thousand times, I am not running away. I won’t duck and run... I won’t duck and run... I won’t duck and run... No no no pass away. This world can turn me down, but I won’t turn away. And I won’t duck and run, cause I’m not built that way. When everything is gone, there's nothing there to fear. This world cannot bring me down, no cause I’m already here. This world can turn me down, But I won’t turn away. And I won’t duck and run, cause I’m not built that way. When everything is gone there's nothing there to fear. This world cannot bring me down, No cause I’m already here. Matthew Good Band - Strange Days Good morning, don't cop out. You crawled from the cancer to land on your feet. Are you crazy, to want this, even for a while? We're making this s**t up, the reasons for being are easy to pay. You can't remember the others, they just kind of went away. So you're driving, it's rush hour. The cars on the freeway are moving like slugs, When you drift off, to wake up, do you always hit the brakes? We're done, lying for a living, the strange days have come and you're, you're gone, you're gone. Either dead or dying. Either dead or trying, to go. It's evening, you're tired, you sleep walk a robot out to the street. You're crazy, to want this, even for a while. You're driving, it's rush hour. The cars on the freeway are moving... backwards... Into a wall of fire. Backwords... Into a wall of fire. Backwords, into a wall of fire. Backwords, into a wall of fire. And we're done lying for a living, strange days have come and you're gone, you're gone. We're done lying for a living, strange days have come and you're gone, you're gone. Either dead or dying Either dead or trying, to go... To go... Good morning...don't cop out... Radiohead - Street Spirit(one of the best and most depressing songs ever, might I add ) Rows of houses, all bearing down on me. I can feel their blue hands touching me. Hold these things into position, All these things will want this world. And fade out again... And fade out... This machine will, will not communicate, These thoughts and the strain I am under Be a world child form a circle, Before we all, go under. And fade out again... And fade out again... Cracked eggs, dead birds, Scream as they fight for life. I can feel death, can see it's beady eyes. Hold these things into position, All these things we'll one day swallow whole. And fade out again... And fade out again... Immerse your soul in love... Immerse your soul in love... Matthew Good Band - Apparitions Say hello, remain, Close to me. No goodbye suicide, mystery. The rat, in your brain, Turns a wheel, Connected to your guts and, All your thoughts are in me, and all your faults in me. What would you say, If we lived on TV? Besides all the things they told you to, all the things they told you to, all the things they told you to, all the things they told you to. We're stuck, Inside our own machine. Apparitions... apparitions... apparitions. Say hello, Well is it strange. Where you are, Where you used to be kind of free, Are they laughing at you, laughing at you. The rat, in your brain. Rules the world, From the comfort of your living room, tell me are we leaving soon. The comfort of your living room, tell me are we leaving soon. We're stuck, Inside our own machine. Apparitions... apparitions... apparitions. We're stuck, Inside our own machine. Apparitions... apparitions. Apparitions.

I'll try;) BTW: Reb I dled those songs. Thanks for posting them, they are great. For me, lyrics are #1 in a song. I can listen to a song that has the best tune but I will never listen to it again. For me if a song has bad lyrics, it isn't a song imho. Also, I despise any singer, rapper, band or anything that does not write there own songs. Tupac songs come from his heart, not from another writer. Does anyone else feel this way? Opinions are welcomed.

Thats why I dont like the whole pop scene, they dont write from the heart. It would be better if they did, then theyd be open to more of an audience. And Tupac. That is totally why I listen to him, it all comes from the heart, and hes been through everything, so he has a vast knowledge and all. So yea, I love that.
