swphreak
I'm putting my faith in EA cuz those Liquid guys made Battle Realms, and that game jus sucked. . .
Lord Glorfindel
EA makes the best bloody RTS's in the whole world!!! I think I am going to get both though, cause I am sort of a Tolkien Freak. O and where to did u acquire this info?
Link Antilles
Awsome! The Two Towers was great, hopefully this one will be too. I wonder what the factions will be.
Crazy_dog no.3
Me, for one, I'd like to see Elves, Dwarves, Gondor, Rohan, Mordor and Isengard. Easterlings, Hobbits and men from Bree (for lack of a better term) would be nice. I guess it will depend on the engine. Medieval: Total War looks to be the perfect engine. Crazy_dog no.3
I know that the book-based one will be out sometime 2004. I dunno about the one Ackbar said so we'll just have to trust him. j/k
darthfergie
:\ LOTR RTS... I thought the idea was pretty crazy back when they first proposed it and I still think it's stupid. I'll just wait around a few months after they come out to see the reviews...it's deffinatly not something I'm going to buy immediatly once it comes out. Luke Skywalker
I'm hoping it will be sort of like Medival Total War in terms of on screen units... lol... I want to control 20 000 elves at once. I LOVE Battle Realms... its actually fun. But you have to play the game alot to understand the strategy behind it. The graphics were really nicely done when it was released. The Black Label version of the RTS will be based on War of the Ring as a whole, so massive war instead of concentrating on the fellowship. The EA version will most likely be more like wc3.... Im hoping to get both but I'll need a new graphics card .
Crazy_dog no.3
Nooooooo not WC3!
Fishflesh
wc3???????? how do you think the battle at helms deep will be whit only 10 units?????
swphreak
My god! I think WC3 is an ok game. . . to burn from a friend but it's not THAT good. If they made it like WC3, it would make LotR lovers into LotR haters.
Lord Glorfindel
Is there a link of some sort about this game? Or news release?
Fishflesh
EA will stop making C&C games generals whas the last one and now thay are working on the LOTR RTS and it will get 3 parts! so 3 lotr RTS games

Crazy_dog no.3
RTS stands for Real-Time Stratergy, like Cossaks, C&C Generals, WC3, SWGB and RoN
pbguy1211
Can't friggin' WAIT!!! RTS, real time strategy Uruk-Hai, Moria Orcs, Goblins, Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits, Wizards, Ents, Gondor, Mordor, Rohan, Isengard... I can't wait! I'd imagine that they'd shoot for a december release to coincide with the movie.
Compa_Mighty
Don't get complicated. 4 factions: Orcs, Men, Elves and Dwarves. Various Campaigns: The Last Allegiance/Alliance (How's the battle where Sauron is defeated called?) The War of the Ring, etc.
Crazy_dog no.3
I'd say Gondor, Rohan, Elves, Dwarves, Mordor, Isengard and Hobbits (would be nice to have)
swphreak
actually, I think it'll be, Suaron or Mordor, Saruman or Isengard, Hobbits.... what do they have?, Men, Elves, and then Dwarfs. I'd be happy with those civs
Crazy_dog no.3
But there are 2 Men kingdoms seen in LOTR. They have different architecture. While Rohan's buildings are mostly wooden (with exception of Helm's Deep, etc.) Gondor's are more stone.
