Feral
OK, so it's not really MI, but it's till decent. If you go to Gamespot's main site, you'll see that they're running a poll asking which adventure game should get a sequel. Grim Fandango is currently leading the charge, with Monkey Island not far behind. Check it out
Remi
Larry on #2? Please... I'd prefer that they'd leave Grim Fandango alone, and I don't much like the Quest games anymore. TLJ2 might make a nice sequel, but I didn't dig the original that much. Other than MI it would have to be MM from that list for me.
Feral
I forgot to mention that I voted for Maniac Mansion; MM3 would just rule, especially if it lives up to the legacy of DOTT.
Gabez
Shame there wasn’t another option for an original game. But out of those, I’d have to pick Monkey Island. I can’t comment on TLJ since when I ordered it, it came with three missing CDs.
Lemon Head
i remember when space quest used to be good, those were the days. However, I had to vote for Grim for several reasons i've scattered elsewhere, and it's not just because the original was so spectacular, if they make a sequal I think they should completely forget the main characters of the first game and start a completely new adventure in the land of the dead - oh how i drool at that sweet prospect
scabb
Maniac Mansion, definitely, because Day of the Tentacle was simply fantastic, and the series is very expendable. I'm not too bothered about Monkey Island after EMI, and I don't want a Grim Fandango sequel as the first stands alone perfectly.
Jake
expendable? expAndable you mean?
scabb
Yes, that would be more appropriate.
SamNMax
MM all the way! It would be cool if they made a remake of it for the PS2, Xbox, or GC.
Joshi
I voted for MI, but that's because worldofmi told me to. nah, it's because i'd like to see monkey island wrapped up once and for all. but MM would be great. so great in fact that i'm going to go and play it right now just to remind me of it. Lemon Head
are we all talking about MM as in the first one or DOTT?
Feral
Both, I suppose, since DOTT was billed as Maniac Mansion 2 at the dawn of it's time.
mymipage
I voted for Grim because well, it's my favourite Adventure Game of all time and I want to see a second one I know MI5 will come sometime (and Grim will probably come too) but I want to see it (Grim Fandango 2) more than I want to see MI5. Lemon Head
yeah but MM1 stank, i hope we are all in agreement about this, which is why i always regard MM and DOTT as completely different
Joshi
MM stank because it used a very early version of SCUMM. i haven't actually layed it fully (it came with my DOTT) btu i tried and it was actually quite hard because you had touse combinations of verbs. still much better than typing it in. Please note, MM was merley a test for SCUMM but people at the time loved it so much that they made a sequel.
SamNMax
MM1 was great! It's a great old classic now, and for it's time it was a great soon-to-be classic. But, yeah, the controls did suck. It took a while to issue a command.
