Bungalow
In the old trilogy, obi wan tells luke that his father was a great pilot who fought in the war you think thats gonna happen in ep III or did they cover that in ep I, cause if that was it, then thats pretty pathetic if they're gonna show anakin's great piloting skills, then theres not gonna be enough time in ep III too many things are happening any ideas? leXX
You don't think the way he handled the speeder in ep2 was great piloting skills? I do! Piloting doesn't only refer to space vehicles, it refers to all vehicles that fly. We may see him pilot some ships in ep3, and early version of a tie fighter perhaps, who knows. boinga1
it never said he flew in the wars, just that he was "the best starpilot in the galaxy". anyway, i'd guess that he did do some flying in the wars, i would if i was as good as he is. Darth Damage
welll he has already been potrayed as the best star pilot in ep1 when he blew that **** up at the end by himself
Darth Damage
lexx he said star pilot t i think that refers to outer space
Andy867
Unfortunately, we will not see Anakin do any more star piloting AS Anakin. Rick McCallum says that the start of Episode 3 will be the end of The Clone Wars, and no real big fights will happen until a little later into the film. Unless they show it then, seeing as how I haven't seen the movie yet

LeXX, I think he means that Obi-wan in the movie says that Anakin was a great star pilot, and a good friend. but I can't remember. It'd be nice if I could just pop my copy into my DVD player (Hint Hint George Lucas and company present) and scan to that location.
leXX
Ok point taken. It is a great shame we don't get to see him fight in the clone wars. I'm sure some EU book or comic will cover it or perhaps the new Clone Wars cartoon.
Andy867
I agree, it would be nice to see him fly a couple battles to prove how good he is. Cuz we really haven't seen much since episode 1, when he lucked out on the Trade Federation Droid Ship. maybe have him take on a couple Trade Federation and Technoarmy star crafts and single handedly come out victorious... Who knows.
Sivy
i read this on hasbo's star wars site Though still only a Padawan during the Clone Wars, Anakin continues to grow stronger in the Force in his role as both a great warrior and natural leader. He uses his power to command a battalion of Clone Troopers into battle against the Separatists droid armies on multiple planets. With the impressive combination of his Jedi abilities, lightsaber, and enhanced mission gear, Anakin battles fiercely to save the galaxy in ground assaults. He also uses his exceptional piloting skills to gain victories in space battles, flying a new Starfighter upon which he made significant modifications to enhance its performance. so anakin got his reputation of being a great pilot during the clone wars. Andy867
Yea, and we all probably know what "Starfighter" that Hasbro is referring to.. Could it possibly be Black with an interestingly sleek design.. Possibly:)
Taos
I agree with you LeXX, I'd like to see how he becomes this amazing pilot. He was pretty talented from what they've shown in TPM and AOTC.

I'm sure some EU book or comic will cover it or perhaps the new Clone Wars cartoon. In case you didn't know, there will be 20+ cartoons on the Cartoon Network covering the time between Episode 2 and 3. I'm too lazy to provide a link to the official site though, that's what search browsers are for.
Andy867
Darth, last time I heard, LucasFilms and the Cartoon Network ran into some problems in which case, I heard they were going to discontinue the idea, mainly on storylines and development, and also couldn't reach an acceptable number to how many episodes. But who knows.
Sivy
http://www.starwars.com/eu/news/2003/02/news20030220.html there's going to be 20 x 3 minutes shorts.
Andy867
thats it? an hours worth of clone wars crap?.. Thats a waste of my time if its only going to be 3 minutes long.. hell, if I go for popcorn, I miss it. I'd prefer to see something real, not something dreamed up by aging wanna-be cartppn producers. Samurai jack and Dex's Lab.. God, I'd rather watch the powerpuff girls than 3 minute flicks.
leXX
Samurai Jack and Dexter's Lab are my favourite cartoons. Genndy is a brilliant cartoonist. No one is dragging you by the hair and forcing you to watch it you know. I agree though, 2-3 minutes each is hardly worth it.
