I was watching an article on the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation). It examined every claims and reports from the American administrations. From that report, about half of the alligations from the USA are false. Just to name a few: - Alluminum tubes for Nuclear Weapons - Non-pilot plane to spread WOMD (weapons of mass destructions) - Bin Laden and Hussein link I dont remember them all, if you dont believe me. go to http://www.cbc.ca, ask for a transcript. The thing that shocks me the most about this was the fact that the US administration kept using those shaddy "intelligence" reports to means of war. The CIA even admited it was falsified. In other words, they were doing propaganda. I know this is a bad example and many wont like it. But propaganda just like the CCCP, Cuba, China, Iraq, Nazi Germany and other worlds under dictatorship were the media is controled and the truth is hidden. The USA needs to clean its act up if they want more support. But again, this war has a plus side. Hussein is getting kicked out. The problem however, is finding the right one. That man has about 3 body doubles. I just hope this war doesnt spring up more terrorism worldwide. However, as the magic 8ball would say... all signs point to yes. This is going to happen over and over and over. Either way, Iraq has proven to be a country that is virtually un-occupiable. Remember the UK's invasion, when they ended up caught between two cities, and their advance was stalled (more to the point, completely halted) and they were forced to leave? And that happened before Iraq even became a country. Whatever. My point is, the U.S.'s wanton destruction, indiscriminate violence, and chauvinistic, jingoist attitude is causing the U.S. (nay, the world!) to tear itself apart. lukeskywalker1 Posted March 19, 2003 Author Share Posted March 19, 2003 humanity wont be destroyed...... come on, anyways the reason bush didnt just choose some random country to go to war with....whether the stuff they say is true or false, iraq messed with our alley isreal, if someone declared war on america, wouldnt u expect great brittian to help us out? thats what we are doing for isreal, suddam wants to blow isreal away, and he admitted he had the weapons of mass destruction in that article, which he said he has now destroyed.....(i dont believe him) hussien and his son have both now said that they are not leaving iraq (which we all knew would happen anyways) his son is worse than him though, i heard if sporet athlets mess up or something he has them killed it was on some special report of some kind on tv. Where the hell did you hear that!!?? Sharon is just as bad as Hussein, I really don't think this war has anything to do with the protection of Israel. This is about America and its allies getting their hands on a piece of the middle east. And don't give me "this is not about oil" argument - because, amongst many other motivations it certainly is. The US wishes to secure a country in the middle east and install a puppet government serving their interests and no-one else's. And why do you think France isn't backing this? They don't broadcast it, but France has big links with the oil suppliers in Iraq - they don't want to ruin that by risking war. The problem with half of you people is that you take everything at face value and interpret what you see on the news as gospel. It most certainly isn't, and as others have stated the US propaganda machine is running overtime at the moment. You know, it's funny you mention Israel. I watched a programme on TV a couple of nights ago about a guy who has been locked away (in solitary confinement, with no windows etc.,) for about 18 years because he blew the whistle on Israel's then undeclared Nuclear missile programme. They too fly in the face of international treaties...but I don't see anyone ready to invade and set them back on the right track. Ironic, isn't it, that we can justify actions when it suits our interests? Anyway, don't get me started on Israel. For a nation of people who suffered so diabolically in World War 2, it saddens me to think they are in the process of exacting the same kind of nightmare on others. Of course the Palesitinian extremists who resort to terrorism are wrong, and should be dealt with. On the other hand, when heavily armoured tanks plough through entire towns, and shoot live rounds at children throwing stones...you have to wonder what the world is coming to... Anyway...war against Iraq is inevitable, and we will have to suffer the repercussions...and there will be repercussions. No matter what happens, even if Saddam is overthrown, it will simply create greater resentment to the so-called West, and 20, 30, 40 years from now we'll be faced with the same problems all over again. We never learn from wars or actions of the past...we always make the same mistakes. We are damned to become involved in military conflict every decade...and as resources on this planet continue to dwindle (particularly in relation to the expanding population), the fighting will become fiercer and bloodier. The moves we have already made towards international cooperation have to be strengthened, not undermined. More than ever, what one country does now has far greater impact on other countries around the globe, because we have formed a global economy which continues to grow and expand. If countries start to break the bonds of unity, then we're in for a tempestuous time indeed. As for Iraq...it all comes down to resources. Whether or not Oil is a factor in the invasion...the simple fact is Saddam is sitting on an Oil resource and wants to keep it. Tyrants and dictators are always greedy, and covet things that don't belong to them (and, of course, some are insane). There will probably always be dictators of one kind of another...because humanity is flawed in so many ways, and no matter what we do to curb it, our basest instincts will still rise to the fore, and there will be those who succumb to them. Anyway, if the interpretations of Nostradamus are to be believed, we could be in for a 27 year war...he apparently predicted a war with the Middle East that would last that long... God help us all. lukeskywalker1 Posted March 20, 2003 Author Share Posted March 20, 2003 look isreal is the united state's ally i think....... a 27 year war is just about impossible, we would use up all our military resources, and iraq cant keep fighting for 27 years, suddam would probably be dead by then anyways, ill be 41 years old.....thats crazy, anyways, when the us gets tired, u know they will shoot a nuke out there, so it wont last 27 years......most of the men fit to fight will die and we will run out of soilders, and the cost would be billions of dollars, maybe trillions. But get this: We are going to war with Iraq because they failed to disarm a resolution the UN gave them 12 years ago. He has not done so. What is our proof he has not done so? Saddam gave an order to use chemical weapons on our troops, that is more then enough proof we need, imo. Saddam is a sick, twisted madman. I mean, the man said Raping women is one of his "hobbies." Iraq is the 2nd biggest producer of oil in the world. (Saudi Arabia being #1) And Iraqi oil does get into the Western market. Just like the diamon trade. You can tell 100% were it is from.
