Lynk Former Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 I may not sound like it but i'm picky too... I mean I'm VERY lucky to have gotten Prime on the first day it was out. Most other times I would have gotten a game a year after it's release date... But my next target now is The Wind Waker which comes out May 3rd down here, can't wait
swphreak Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 May 3rd pff. I could have gotten it yesterday! but I didn't. Maybe I'll rent it fist. I still have doubts about it.
Lynk Former Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 lol well games alwayz come out later for us because certain small changes and improvements need to be made. ie... Metroid Prime's added voices eheheh i like rubbing that in
joesdomain Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 I wonder if they will have missions like Battle of Hoth and the Battle of Endor. I think it would be cool to fight a cool space battle with a star destroyer. Race into death star II and destroy it.
Lynk Former Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 lol you already do that in Rogue Leader lol everythin u just mentioned. Hoth, Endor, SD's... going into the DS2
swphreak Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Yes, welcome to last year. Jus kidding. They already have those. I wanna be able to take on a SUPER star destroyer in RS3.
swphreak Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Not really. Just crash into the command bridge and it's dead .... but one thing I don't get. SDs have an Auxilitory(sp?) Bridge (back-up). Why didn't they regain control?
joesdomain Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 I had no idea! How was I suppose to know that if they didn't put Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader on Playstion, Playstation 2, or PC. Because those are the only systems I have. I don't have a Gamecube and I won't buy one. If Lucasarts would quit their policy of just releasing certain games on one system then maybe they would make more money and sell more copies of video games.
Lynk Former Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 i'll give u a couple of points on why Factor 5 (LucasArts doesn't sound like it has much of a say on anything in the RS series except to provide the SW theme) is the way it is with it's games. 1. Factor 5 is a 2nd party developer for Nintendo. They also helped with the developing of the GameCube (very little but still)... 2. Factor 5 told us in many interviews that (and this is my favourite part) the PS2 would just not handle Rogue Leader's graphics at all. 3. and I have a strong feeling Factor 5 doesn't want to be involved with Microsoft
joesdomain Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 I don't understand. Is Microsoft in charge of relasing all the Lucasarts PC games. I understand your point on X-box and Playstation 2. There is no reason why PC fans get left out again.
Lynk Former Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 Yes Rogue Leader is fully capable of running on PC, but Rogue Leader was also designed specifically for the GameCube by Factor 5. It was a test of what the GCN could achieve with it's first generation games. Yeah afterwards it coulda been released on PC but I don't think Factor 5 had any interest in doing that in the first place... they were already busy developing new software for games for the GCN after RL was made. And it takes a lot to convert a game, more than people realise.

Lynk Former Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 Or how the starfighters fly around in space like they're in an atmospheric environment
Shotokan Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 heh... yea theres not supposed to b n e sound in space
swphreak Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 what about fire in space? There's no oxygen. How can there be fire?
Lynk Former Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 I like the fact that such tight turns can be made in space when the only propulsion is coming from a couple of engines at the back.
Cmdr. Cracken Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 1)I don't have a GC, so this makes me more angry than when i heard the second Rogue Suqadron came out for GC only. 2)I think they didn't get control of the SSD because they never thought they needed to use the aux. bridge, so it was probably poorly maintained, and no-one drilled to get down there fast enough. That, and the C.O kinda died..... ^_^
Lynk Former Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 No it's cause Vader had already choked the people who were well trained so only the trainee's were left. Poor bastards, they died before they could find out what was in the secret sauce

Actually there's thruster jets or repulsors or...something. I don't remember, but I do remember there's an explanation. I wondered about the fire myself
Pisces Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 There could be a little bit of fire (not as much as they show) because of oxygen in the cockpit. Well, if they have oxygen in them.
