Tyrion Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 change the .com (or whatever it is) at the end of your link to .txt, and it'll actually link to it(with pictures at least).
Andy867 Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 Don't you mean change the jpg or GIF extension to .txt to view linked images?
Tyrion Posted April 18, 2003 Author Posted April 18, 2003 That's what I meant. Yeah,I dont link from geocities, so I was a bit confused. Just heard on other forum about that.
Andy867 Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 Yea, like with my IMAGE SIG, I use geocities, but if you look at the file properties of my IMAGE SIGs, they are .TXT files, but as everyone can see, the image is appearing. Thanks to those who discovered that little flaw in the YAHOO! Geocities REMOTE LINKING System.
Karsec Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 but if too many view it at once, it goes offline for an hour
Andy867 Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 actually, it shouldn't be a problem if people don't copy and paste it into their address bar since it should show up on almost every forum. So, as long as people just look at it without copying and pasting the link into the address bar, it shouldn't tally up the bandwidth to cause it to go offline.
-=ReApEr=- Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 I use my own hosting so im lucky i don't have to use darn thing's like geocites
