El Sitherino
ok you have conjoined twins. one of them shoots the other with a horse tranq(thats just for you jais ) and then goes and kills someone. ok well if the police jail the killer, the innocent one will also have to be in jail. they can't get surgery because it's too expensive and dangerous. what would they do? and don't slack like jais did and say they let him go cuz then the victim's family will be like he murdered an innocent man and you let him walk! please post your thoughts
leXX
You know it's funny, I had a similar thought watching Katie and Elish (sp?) a few years ago. If one commits a crime, does the other one have to suffer too. It's a dilema indeed. The question is, what would you do if you were the judge? I just don't know. C'jais
(Why do you always have to drag me into it, IS? ) Well, it's an interesting question indeed, but I don't think the issue will ever arise. Most siamese twins live a very secluded, secure and disabled life. Most would not be capable of commiting such a crime I think. The judge would probably let them go with a heavy fine to the caretakers. They'd probably already be living in an institute of some kind, so I don't think prison would change much to the outside world or the justice system. leXX
I don't think that is necessarily true Jais. Katie and Elish led very normal lives indeed. They weren't secluded although you could very well argue they were disabled (they did extremely well considering). I don't see how they could be considered any less capable of commiting such a crime than anyone else. Why would they be living in an institute? Most conjoined twins live with their familys or on their own. If the judge let them go and it was one of my family members as a victim, I would feel very hard done by indeed. Danyael
here is the whole issue..... if the guilty half were to shoot his other half with a tranq, then that other person would not likely be able to kill anyone seeing how half his body is now paralyzed. imagine trying to walk or even crawl for that matter if you cant control your other sides arms, legs, as well as the added weight. so logic would dictate they are both guilty! They have to work together to make this work. now here is a dilema for ya. If one of the twins is gay and the other striaght.. and they are sexually active.. they both feel the same physical expericences.. how does that work out. That's not too hard, the conjoined twins are not of the same sex, so that would lead to both getting what they wanted....
Boba Rhett
Ya know, I'm going to refrain from even trying to answer this until it happens.

matt--
Depending on where they were joined, there's a very good chance that the horse tranquilizer would move into both bodies. It is likely that the whole body would be paralized.

Divine Spirit
well the 'innocent' conjoined twin had the ability to stop the crime and maybe helped it take place so therefore both of them can be charged with criminal intent. end of discussion
