Dr. Zaius Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Um, does anyone have any idea about what the force powers will be? I heard that there were many of them, but I only know of the basic push, choke, mind control etc. If you could enlighten me on these then that would be great. Because I know I definately wont be a jedi, and I probally will never see a jedi use his force powers either. Also, does anyone have any idea how long the force powers will last? For instance, the mind control, will it last 5 seconds or 1 minute? I hope the devs have this balanced.
waffleman Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 there is quite a bit of speculation on whether Jedi force powers will be in the game at launch at all. However, if they are incorperated in the game I am positive they will include the usual, "force seeing, pull, choke, lightning...ect. But... I believe you will only be able to use the more advanced forms of force powers as you level up and possibly learn them through using your other powers. So lightning will most likely be the last to be learned after pull. I hope this helps
-=ReApEr=- Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 I think for padawans they will only have basic push and pull, gaining more powers until they reach Jedi Master, where they would get all of them.
swphreak Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Jedi's and FS is a closely gaurded secret. It's all speculation, but i will suspect Jedis will have the force push, speed, ect.
BobaWP Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Do you think you will get different skill things due to having a force sensitive character like push, choke etc.
Dr. Zaius Posted May 7, 2003 Author Posted May 7, 2003 When they finally put in the dark side of the force, will there be force powers specific to both the light and dark side of the force?
UnfrozenCaveman Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Phreak, when you make Jedi to a plural, you dont' add an 's'. Just like with fish. It's not fishes...it's just fish. "OMG, I just ran into a gaggle (lol) of 20 jedi, they're serious mofo's that I wont' mess with." As an example.
swphreak Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 oooooooh I made a speling error! I am shamed. please excuse me. i must commit suicide now I am sure there will be Light/Dark side specific power. For example, the Dark ide would have Force Lighting and the choke. Light Side would have Healing and other.. pacifist type powers...
-=ReApEr=- Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 I think you will get all the powers if your a Dark Jedi, as there is no siths in the game. Only Dark Jedis
waffleman Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 right you are reaper. I think you start as a light jedi first before becoming dark. How do you become dark though? Just go kill lots of people? That sounds like fun
-=ReApEr=- Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 It's the same as becoming a Jedi, it's completely random but less random. More reflected on the actions and things you do
Dr. Zaius Posted May 7, 2003 Author Posted May 7, 2003 You have to have a lot of built up hate and be really pissed to become a dark jedi.
waffleman Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Well, i cant wait to see how people will NOt become dark Jedis considering how many people are out thier joining criminal orgnizations and bounty huntung and smuggling...the list goes on. But I suppose there are a few who will stick to the light side.
Kaiser Spaso Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 don't worry i will keep everything balanced on the light side
waffleman Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Hey everyone, carefull not to step in the bull $i\!T. Spaso, listen, no offense or nothing but everyone has now realized you without a doubt are going to be a Jedi Lets leave it at that
Xx_Patman_xX Posted May 8, 2003 Posted May 8, 2003 I just thought of something. Because the Devs said that there is no jumping in this game, that means Jedi wont be able to jump either. Wont this really mess up Lightsaber combat? I know whenever i play JKOutcast I am jumping like crazy all over the place. And it works.

We all got to have dreams and spasos dream is to be a Jedi and im 100% behind him.
Jackrabbit Posted May 8, 2003 Posted May 8, 2003 Well, it is an RPG Patman; jumping wouldn't really help you. They probably have pre-animated moves, like the jump/spin/flip move in JKII.
-=ReApEr=- Posted May 8, 2003 Posted May 8, 2003 They do have jump i thought or atleast the animation.
Jackrabbit Posted May 8, 2003 Posted May 8, 2003 Yeah, they have the animation for realism, but you can't get any height out of it. They're having problems with the Y-axis last I heard.

Kaiser Spaso Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 i have a good idea for mind tricks but it is posted in the development forum

waffleman Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 ya, ive seen your mind trick post spazo, one of your best. It would be a real shame if theyt didnt include that. But then again, considering how few Jedi thier are going to be *cough, spaso cough cough * Im wondering if sony devs will take the time on something that will only affect Jedis and the people they do battle with. We have to look at it in the larger scale of why include something that only ay about 150 people will use out of the 200,00 people who are expected to play. So im hoping for it, but not holding my breath.
-=ReApEr=- Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 I thought it would also affect weak new players, but i would say jedis only use it if players annoy them or cause damage to them.
