UnfrozenCaveman
I know most of us don't really think about this, but the Bothans never really obtained the plans for the DeathStar. It was actually our man Kyle Katan. It was like the second or third mission of Dark Forces when he obtained the plans. I guess the bothans just took credit for it. If I'm wrong please let me know in a nice fashion. Btw- DF was a great game!
setsuko
Yes, those bothans sucks! Just slacking around, and then take credit for other people's hard work! I have one right here, lying on my couch drinking beer, and at the end of the month, he takes MY paycheck! *sigh*
swphreak
I have heard many things concerning this issue: - The Emperor lets the plans get stolen by the Bothans to lure the rebels into the trap at Endor. - Dash Rendar with the help from a Squadron of Bothan fighters and Luke, boards the frieghter carrying the data, and *steals* them. - and then what you said about Kyle for this issue, I'm just stickin with the fact that the Emperor let the rebels *steal* the plans. They fall for the trap and blame the Bothans

UnfrozenCaveman
Good point- that was the one we knew for so many years, it must be the real one. Besides, I like that one better, 'cause it shows that Sidious is very very crafty. I like my villians crafty, my damsles in distrece hot, my heroes cool, and my beer cold

Jan Gaarni
Ok, I see alot of mixups about the different Death Star plans. First Death Star: Stolen by Katarn (in the very first mission). Second Death Star: By some Bothans, Luke and Dash (the Emperor let them get the plans).

StarCords
Yes, thank you. Even though I haven't posted in this thread, I don't like people dissing Bothans.
benTantilles
lots of people contributed to the capturing of the plans 4 both death stars. kyle katarn, in the df games, captured the plans (on raltiir, i think) and beamed it (thru that "tight-beamed transmission" vader mentioned. anyone remember?) to the tantive IV, leia's corellian corvette, who then got pursued by the imp star devestator (vader's flagship @ the time) to tatooine...and we all know what happens next. now the ds II is more complicated...prince xizor persuades palpatine to let the rebels have the plans for the DSII....which works well 4 xizor in 2 ways: not only does he cultivate the alliance's favour when he seemingly "reveals" some info on the DSII to them, but he also ensnares more of the emperor trust by devising the very plan which would rid him of that rebel annoyance once & for all. the alliance acts on xizor's tip off and sends the ever-incompetent luke skywalker and an inexperienced squad of Bothans in BTL-S3 Y-wings (2-seaters) to disable the imperial freighter suprosa, which was supposed to house the plans for the DSII. skywalker loses half his squad but manages to secure the plans, which is sent to kothlis for decoding. more complications occur, with many bothans dieing (including the honourable koth melan), but the bothans hold true to their word and deliver the ds plans. and yeah, dont go dissin the bothans. i know that borsk fey'lya doesn't do a good job of painting his species in good light but then, hey, what politician does? beside, there're plenty of good bothans out there....asyr sei'lar....koth melan....those bothans in requiem for a rogue....i think it's unfair to base your opinion on the bothans on the actions of a few.... TheMaestro
Actually in the first movie, Vader says, "We know plans were beamed to this ship..." And in the second movie, Mothma says, "Many Bothans died to bring us this information." I guess if you're very Anal you can say, "The Bothans only carried the info, they didn't get it." All I care about is that the info was acquire, and the Rebels won.

benTantilles
You know I was about to use speciesists, but I didn't want to make any words up you know being a sw fan entails making up new words... hey maestro- i think u're a bit confused, bud...the bothans weren't involved in the capture of the first death star's plans...only the second.
