Val`Gahk
The question is: will she run in the stairs?...
DomStLeger
I'm not a big fan of Syberia (as I've banged on about probably too much in the past). But the preview sounds interesting in that they seem to have taken some of the criticisms on board; such as apparently allowing more interaction with the background? ("but more "exciting events" will happen to Kate than before with a more interactive environment and more characters to interact with" - Ign.com). If they do that, it might make the gae a little easier to get into. Part of the problem I had with the game, was that it did just feel like a bunch of connected pictures which you ran across fetching objects. If you can actually look at things and interact with things, without the generic "no need to go down there", the game may be more immersive and more appealing. (if thats what they mean by a more interactive environment; and not just the footprints in the snow promise). I'll probably buy Syberia 2, as crazy as that sounds considering I haven't finished Syberia 1 yet. The way i see it, I'm a "hardcore" adventure gamer () and I've kicked myself in the past when I've missed out on games, so might as well give it a chance. Skinny Minnie
Dom, you took the words right out of my mouth, so there's no need (for me) to go there. I posted the S2 preview article here, though, because I too could see where it inferred that Microids is improving the game play troubles some felt that the original had, besides making the game even better looking than the first. DustCropper
Gamespot has made a few Syberia II updates as well. They've posted 48 new screenshots / models and have written a short hands-on preview. Plus, if you're a Gamespot Complete subscriber (which I'm not), then be sure to watch the two movies they have showing some of Syberia II's gameplay. amishler
I watched the videos, and from that brief glimpse, it does look like more of the same in terms of looks and gameplay, and I'm fine with that. The most striking difference to me was that a different person is doing Kate's voice. It could just be a placeholder voice, though. The person she spoke to had dialog that was obviously meant to be spoken with a fairly thick Russian accent, but the guy sounded like he was from suburban Toronto or something. So maybe they haven't done actual voice recording yet.

curacao
Originally posted by GinnyW Nice preview, I will definetly buy Syberia II . They wrote Kate Archer instead of Walker twice! Tskk... especially since there's no such person as Kate Archer, it's Cate Archer. Am I the only person who feels Cate is a totally different name, and also loads nicer than Kate? For some reason? With the first you're right... Cate is absolutely different from Kate... And the second is just a matter of which you prefer...
