Lord_Vessen Posted June 22, 2003 Share Posted June 22, 2003 As some of you know the practioners of Teras Kasi in this PA have decided to make a sort of cell for the Teras Kasi. A group of people who can help fellow Teras Kasi Artists train and other sorts of things. We are eventually going to build a Dojo where the Teras Kasi practioners can live, train, and hold tournaments. This is a cool idea but still needs approval from the leaders. I have a grand idea. Maybe we could start a Teras Kasi Association for Starsider! This Association could keep track of the practioners, have locations of dojos across the galaxy, hold tournaments, and help students find masters to train with. "I practice Teras Kasi because it's cool, and I live here because my friends live here" is a lot less interesting than something like "after looking for a teacher for years, I found a cell within the =A=. After weeks of training, they let me stay and I helped them build their dojo. Now I am one of the teachers." But it will be mainly for practioners of melee combat so they can get more XP. But everyone is welcome to join us! Lets throw some ideas around about our cell. Things we can provide to the PA etc. Like an super cool squad of Teras Kasi Masters! Enlightenment on weaponless combat etc. Some buddies to drink with... By the sound of it you are in agreement, but will we be under the Combat Group or a specialized sub-unit like the Bounty Hunters? I think it would be cool to have the sub-unit! As for the robes, only certian items I can change the appearance, color, and name of. For instance if I make robe I can change its colors, possibly its appearance (how it looks on your avatar), and I can give it whatever name I want like "Teras Kasi Robe" or if you are at the correct skill level "Robe of the Master Teras Kasi." It feels good to know that I have ambitious personell prepared to step forward, especially since I won't be able to play SWG for a while after release (it takes ages for amazon.uk to ship it here). Having it being a subgroup of the combat group would work, I think, and your independence will more or less depend on how well you handle it. And by what I see, I think it would work out well. And no, I should not post this late at night. It turns into jibberish. Cooperate. Roleplay. Enjoy your TKA cell. Do this, and I'll let you run it as you like, as long as you are kind to the others in my group. Ok? *Pssst!* Gaarni and Wraith! Look at them! They are actually asking me to do less work! Can you believe it!? EDIT: oh, and yes, at the moment, I don't see any of you as responsible for the group, unless you decide otherwise. I trust you will take a collective responsibility. As for the robes or "gees" we should have black with different colored borders for what lvl TKA you are or what rank you are within the TKA Cell. It really depends on u Donnie since you are the one to make the robes. Like having white at first then yellow thn red then blue for master. As for a dojo and dojos we should really just try to stick together at first and dump the resources we find into architects to make a dojo for us. I am sure Marksmen will want to have some beefy TKAs around to take some damage and deal it while they fire at a safe distance. And once we do establish a dojo we can start spreading new dojos across the planet (Corellia) and edventualy across the universe. That rank thing is an okay idea but I don't support it. I am a practioner of Aikido. In my dojo we don't have a huge rank system. We just have white belts and black belts. No frilly pink poka dot stripes or blue with a neon glow. Its a simple thing. I think we should have the same uniform. It could confuse the enemy. setsuko Posted June 25, 2003 Share Posted June 25, 2003 Hm. A bit too slow for my taste, it is. Me, I go with my shinai. As a kendoka, I sharpen my mind and wield it together with my blade. Plus, a bogu armour is way nicer than having just a gi, and at most a gi and a hakama, as you have in aikido. Me, I have gi, hakama and kote, do, men and tare. Oh, and swords. You can't go wrong with swords. Plus, pursuing a Way that you are never tempted to put to use in real life is pursuing a gentle Way. Dathan Surehand Posted June 25, 2003 Share Posted June 25, 2003 The very last night of beta I played for about three hours as TK, I made it to the second level in that time. The major prob is that it costs like a 1000 creds to get trained to the next level. So pooling resources initially will be good to pay for someone to get trained to each level. This WILL definately give us an advantage. This goes for any group BH, Marksman, Artisian, etc. As far as this PA goes, we NEED to get someone trained in each area asap. I know our PA has a deffinitive structure, but one thing we will need to do is establish some other things. I will start another post regarding this under PA TRAINERS. Donnie Darko Posted June 25, 2003 Share Posted June 25, 2003 Regarding Ranks: There won't be any ranks, no leaders, no pee-ons, we are Teras Kasi, we opperate as a whole. But there are certain levels of skill, like "student" all the way to "master." In my opinion everyone who isn't a master should have a certian robe and everyone who is a master has a different type/color robe. But, of course, we can take a vote on this. The dojo thing is a great idea...but there is one problem, if we start setting up dojos everyone and we only have about 5 or 6 Teras Kasi that really wouldn't make sense because the odds of a Teras Kasi being there are slim-to-none. At most I think we should have 3...maybe 1 or 2 more. On a side note I think it's cool we all have a fair share of martial arts talent. I took American Goju, Washun Rue, and starting July 12 my Kung Fu and Tai Chi classes begin. I can't wait for the Tai Chi and Kung Fu. Tai Chi studies the Wu Dan sword art (the stuff you saw in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.) Anyways...let me know what you think about what was stated above! Goose_Of_Mercy Posted June 26, 2003 Share Posted June 26, 2003 I used to take kempo (for about 6 years) i got to the belt just before black but had too many conflicting things goin on. Kempo is a combination of many forms of martail arts: Akido (flowing movements to use the enimies force against them), Ju-Jitsu (ground wrestling), boxing, kick boxing, and many others. It was a worth while experience and i suggest kempo to everyone. Yah now that i think about it ranks will be a bad idea and may split up the TKA. We should all just have some gis and have them be black or dark blue or both. I also think we should have only one dojo, but just like the PA we may expand to other planets. Of course I am thinking months and months ahead.
