IMs as well as PA related IMs, SWG.net staff/mod related IMs, ex-girlfriends and the 'Where are you now, wanna go otu sometime?' IMs. I just try to avoid IMs and chat rooms at all costs. Gets insane sometimes.
Jedur Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 I am going for: Master Scout Master Marksman Master Bounty Hunter (seems to be almost too popular:rolleyes: ) I still do not know what I will do with my other points until I get in the game.

Jatari Bazrak Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 yes and you cant get rid of skills to learn new ones.
Sunshine Badass Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 You can get rid of skills to make room for new ones, but those skills needed by an elite profession may NOT be removed, I hear. Jatari: One less "T" in that sentence? Or was that meant to be there?
Deft Aklin Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Yeah, I double checked, they did switch it back. Rather upsetting really. Eh, I like the way I made my character anyway. Now I just have to put in the time to get the XP.....and wait until Starsider is up.
Kenshin Himoura Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Master Marksman Master Scout Master Bounty Hunter With the left over points invested in the Rifleman profession.
Vesentac Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Originally posted by Darth_Sidious Yeah, I double checked, they did switch it back. Rather upsetting really. So that means we cant surrender the skills once past the requirement right??
Deft Aklin Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Yeah, we used to be able to do this in Beta, but they pulled it. I just never noticed.
Opa Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 that sux.. Well I don't plan on pulling any of my points away from the elite professions...yet anyway..
Jatari Bazrak Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 oh sorry I mean can but know i'll just leave it because you can't.
themercifulone Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 im thinking that ill be a mercenary. some professions need protection when going in the wild to collect resouces. thats my market, as well as joining hunting parties. i think i have planned out a decent skill tree. but as with all things, it is subject to change. i plan to start out as a scout. i think im going to be a mon calamari. my skills will be the following: exploration IV and Survival IV under the scout prof. rifle specialist, pistol specialist, and ranged weapon support ability specialist under marksman master pistoleer master rifleman that leaves me with 24 skill points left over, and im not sure where to invest them at. any suggestions would be nice. i could possibly go ahead and be a master marksman and use the last of my skill in the carbineer tree so that i can be efficient with a carbine as well, but i dont seem the point in that since ill be using a rifle from a distance and then switch to pistol when things get close. i could invest in some medic skills, but which ones should i invest in, remember that i only have 24 skill points left. would it do me any good to invest any more into the scout profession, or the squad leader, and if so, which ones? im pretty much locked in stone with my said skills, i just need to know what to do with my remaining 24, what do u guys think?
Kenshin Himoura Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 So I could actually be a master Rifleman and a master Bounty Hunter??? and still have points left over?! That is truely awsome news... then I could invest my other skill points into something like musician
Deft Aklin Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 No, you will not have enough XP for al of that Kenshin. You'll have to be a little more selective. Also, keep in mind that you might not need all of those BH skills. Take a closer look on one of the character building sites to figure out exactly how you'll want to proceed. At least one of your elite professions will be cut in half.
Sim Fubar Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Scout: Master Marksman: Carbine Tree Carbineer: Master Artisan: Driod Engineer Tree Driod Engineer Most of them skills Thats how i aim to start, may change when times comes though as I'am waiting for Europe release
darthfergie Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 well this is what I messed with...don't know how accurate it was...but it was quite simple and quick to use. http://swg.allakhazam.com/db/charbuild.html Marksman (build up Carbine Specialist) -> Carbineer (Master it) -> Scout & Marksman (Get proper skills for Squad leader) -> Squad Leader (master it) -> Scout (possibly master it) Carbineer/Squad Leader first...we'll see how everything else works out.
Ride Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 Master Medic Master Scout Master Creature Handler Marksman: -Expert Pistol Skill -Advanced Rifle Skill -Intermediate Carbine Skill Give meyour opinions on what I have chosen.
Chapel Aduro Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 I will probably be a Master Marksman, Master Scout, and either Master Ranger or Master Bounty Hunter.
Deft Aklin Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 Originally posted by Ride Master Medic Master Scout Master Creature Handler Marksman: -Expert Pistol Skill -Advanced Rifle Skill -Intermediate Carbine Skill Give meyour opinions on what I have chosen. Commit to one weapon and specialize in it. You'll thank me later. CHs spend most of their time alone, so pistol works best until you get some full grown creatures, and can control more than one. Then rifle or Carbine is a good choice. Then, if you can;'t specialize, try picking up Ranged Combat Support as it will give you warning shots which are very nice when you are overwhelmed by little herds.
themercifulone Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 sticking to one weapon for a creature handler may be all well and good. but for me, being a merc, i need the best all around protection i can provide. i still need to know what to do with my last 24 skill points. i have a post near the top of this page. does anybody have any ideas???
