OmegaNothing
I have heard from a reliable source that episode III will be called "Revenge of the Sith". I think this is a very good name considering the others, and its also similar to "Return of the Jedi". The name does make sense and I hope that the rumour is true! But I doubt we'll know for definite for another year plus until they've finished filming.
pbguy1211
i had heard ep 6 was supposed to originally be revenge of the jedi... but luke wasnt yet a jedi, so it was return. but revenge would make sense since they're already sith
OmegaNothing
I hope thats what they do call it now, its a pretty cool name and it suits the story.
daring dueler
although it is a cool name, i doubt any news on title for it are not real for awhile, i dont think your source would know yet.
pbguy1211
well, it just makes sense for it to be something short and similar to "revenge of the sith" or "return of the sith" it follows the pattern already set forth
Bob Gnarly
I doubt any of this is true, most Movies never have a name till there done filming.

OmegaNothing
I heard about it on an entertainment slot on the new some weeks back. And usually they have ideas about names, but like I said nothings final until they finish filming.
Lynk Former
Nothing is reliable. Until GL gives the official word anything anyone else says is just made up
Omikron
Revenge of the Sith does sound pretty good, and George Lucas has probably already decided on a name, because as far as I'm aware he has finished off the first script draft, so he probably has a solid idea on what the movie is going to be called. I'm not so sure about that. Yoda said Luke would be a Jedi only once he facess Vader. He defeated Vader... became a Jedi, and hence the Jedi returned. At least that's how I see it. Omikron
I see it the same way thatpbguy1211 sees it, Luke is the 'Return' of the Jedi, meaning that he is the one who will train the jedi, and they 'Return'.
pbguy1211
And didnt Yoda tell Luke to pass on what he had learned? And that "there is another Skywalker." So him passing it along is also helping the return of the jedi.
Jedi_Monk
A long time have I promoted this title. Cool, I think it is! Bragging rights over many, will I have, if the title this is! Ahem... and getting out of Yoda Mode... Return of the Jedi certainly has a double meaning. This being Anakin's story, the Jedi who returns certainly refers to him, but on a larger scale, the Jedi Order is also returning with Luke and Leia. RotJ is basically the perfect title to wind up the saga because it fits together both the epic and the personal aspects of Star Wars. The struggles of our protagonist-turned-antagonist are reflected in the struggles of the galaxy he inhabits, and vice versa.
OmegaNothing
I was always under the impression that "Return of the Jedi" was referring to Luke, as the Jedi are back thanks to him and what he starts etc. But I suppose that the Anaking story could work too, maybe its referring to both of them. pleto4_ryan
the title "return of the jedi" is exactly what it sais. the biggest sith dies and the jedis can again flourish... Jedis are returning to exist... Luke made that by helping his father seeing that he is still a jedi...but the title is general...(i think) ------------------------------------- Revenge of the sith is perfect. shows the difference between sith and jedis. While jedis return sith revenged...they have only anger feelings .... but loucas is known to have the title only the last months before the premiere. Nothing is sure... The Cheat
i always took it both ways, being the return of the jedi order and the return of anakin to the light side of the force
pbguy1211
he, i never even thought about it being anakin's return to the light side.

coupes.
Concerning the ep3 title I don't think it'll be Revenge of the Sith. I beleive it will be 'Star Wars : Birth of an Empire', I think it's a pretty cool name too.
Eldritch
I don't think "Birth of an Empire" would mesh with the decidedly 50's sci-fi pulpy names GL has chosen for every other SW movie. Revenge of the Sith would be closer, but if there's one thing we've learned from GL, it's that the name of the movie is NEVER what you expect (or what you want it to be). How many people expected "Attack of the Clones?" Did anyone even suggest that possible title? Was there any type of "inside" or "reliable" information from anyone that was even remotely close to AotC? I don't think so. We'll find out in about a year or so what the real name is. Orn Free Taa
People once said: "Rise of the Empire" but doubt that since Terminator 3 was called Rise of the Machines. It's too alike...according to me of course!
