ragou Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 If you want to look at really good looking raytraced images, you should go here: http://www.vrayrender.com/gallery/ Example:
BigJKO Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Very nice! While we're on the subject, CGTalk.com has some very nice amateur pictures, both 3D and 2D and it's just a forum so it'll have new pictures almost each day.

Homoludens Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Wow, Curt, that was an awesome sight, watching my sarcasm fly far over your little head in a graceful arc.
Homoludens Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Anyway, I looove that little car. A Saab, is it? Vintage? I used to promise myself if I ever owned a car it would be Volkswagen bug, but my allegiance has since shifted over to the new Mini!
Curt Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Originally posted by Homoludens Wow, Curt, that was an awesome sight, watching my sarcasm fly far over your little head in a graceful arc. Leave my little head out of this. Can you think of nothing else in life but peoples little heads? Btw, that car looks amazing. Amazing what quality pictures digital cameras are capable of nowadays.
Wajus Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Very nice indeed and impressive. Now this is a trully amazing example of state of the art photorealism. BTW Trep, what (or maybe who) are you specifically so "sarcastic" about? There was nothing to ignite your reaction. Or maybe there's some notion among adventure gamers that I'm not familiar with and that you openly dislike?
Homoludens Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Curt, that's not a car. It's a tennis game. Don't you know anything? Originally posted by Wajus BTW Trep, what (or maybe who) are you specifically so "sarcastic" about? There was nothing to ignite your reaction. You should hang out here more often.
BigJKO Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 To sum it up: Trep is qute the graphics whore, but also the courier of innovation in Adventure games, whereas the tight-assed hardcore adventure gamers want nothing but point-n-click 2d graphics in excactly the same old style as before, and think that innovation might kill the universe. This is, of course, a rough generalization but you get the point.
Homoludens Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 "RUN!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! IT'S A METEOR SHOWER OF PIXEL SHADERS AND ANTIALIASING! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!"
Wajus Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 I see now. I unite with you in your opinions. "I can't imagine why you wouldn't Welcome any change, my tight-assed friends." np Tool - Aenima

Saab is also a Swedish company (as you already knew, right?). The day we get such graphics in adventure games (in real time of course), I think even our dear trep will stop complaining about AG:s not having good enough graphics.

Although I'm no graphic expert, I downloaded all the videos from that site just for fun. There was some really beautiful stuff there alright.
twifkak Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 OK. I'll refrain from my technical spiele, then.
Swordmaster Posted August 28, 2003 Posted August 28, 2003 M.C. Escher rules. Loved the Futurama reference in the episode "I, Roommate".
