theneb
An in-depth bs3 gc feature can now be found over at http://www.adventurecorner.de The feature includes some brand new screenshots and the german boxart Currently there seems to be an error getting other screenshots but I'm sure they will be working soon. Anyway drool over these: http://ss.theneb.co.uk/gc/nicostreet.png http://ss.theneb.co.uk/gc/cover.jpg BS:TSD has received already quite a nice media boost from thq. http://ss.theneb.co.uk/gc/stairs.jpg http://ss.theneb.co.uk/gc/poster.jpg More information and screenshots for: http://adventurecorner.adventureserver.de/szene/previews/bf3/German Readers http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?tt=url&url=http%3A%2F%2Fadventurecorner.adventureserver.de%2Fszene%2Fpreviews%2Fbf3%2F&lp=de_enEnglish Readers
BigJKO
And the 'Edit' button once again put the minds of people around the world at ease. And so, reunited with peace, our hero once again set off to the glorious horizon of the HTML desert. The End. Now, go to sleep kids or you'll have to hunt for breakfast tomorrow! Homoludens
Originally posted by theneb Sorry, but this cover art is kinda.....ugly, to me. And it has no aesthetic or stylistic consistency to how the actual in-game world looks and behaves. It's also rather deceptive - an illustrative, realistic cover look telling you nothing about the game's cartoon-like stylization. It just looks......wrong. Skinny Minnie
I totally agree! I mean, it's good artwork in its own way, but the style is just plain wrong. I know box art seldom is an exact replica of the game world, but come on! Hopefully they'll change it.
remixor
Well, the box cover we saw earlier (for US and other parts of Europe? anyone know?) hardly indicates anything about the game whatsoever. It certainly looks quite nice, but it's pretty ambiguous as well.
Homoludens
Sorry about my harsh post. No, that cover art is not ugly, it's quite good, really. I just reacted in such way because I was so used to the stylized look of the in-game gameworld, and seeing that particular cover art was pretty jolting. But you have to agree, it would be a bad choice primarily because the impressionistic, realistic style has nothing to do with the actual game's look. twifkak
The George on the cover reminds me more of the guy (Nick, was it?) from the CBS show The Guardian than George Stobbard from BS1/2.
AC | Murray
Ah.. thanks Peter, didn't mention that I got the URL to the gallery wrong. It's fixed now. Those shots beside the article are from the PS2 - really nice indeed. I didn't like the cover, too. Unfortunately german Head of PR at THQ told us that it's presumably the final artwork. :/ /edit: Heh, Babelfish translated my surname. Evil thingy. theneb
Revolution don't like it either, apparently they are putting their views forward to thq but at the end of the day it's all up to thq. Work in progress let's say.
SamandMax
When did George turn into William Petersen?
twifkak
How does he look more like William Petersen than Simon Baker?
Novel_T
I think concept art is great, but I also think cover art should be indicative of what you can expect when you install the game.
