Darth Eggplant
hey went to the movies yesterday night. I saw jackie Chan's "The Medalion" it was alright, not my fav JC movie but enjoyable enough. but the real treat were 2 of the trailers\coming soons. one movie cool is called "the Order." it is about a sectret society within the church. it stars the guy from a "Knights Tale" and it also has the girl from a "Knights Tale" and the guy's friend and squire from a "Knights Tale." I just finished seeing "Brotherhood of the Wolf" the other day, coll trippy movie with great camera transitions. the director scored high there. anyhow looking forward to seeing "The Order" BUT, the real great trailer. and an url ~ http://www.entertheunderworld.com is a film called "Underworld" it is about an age old war between Vampires and Werewolves. I mean I liked the first Blade, but this is cooler because it's like Alien VS Predator. two supernatural forces waging war for supernatural supremacy. I am looking forward to this film alot! I hope it's not one of those trailer is better than the movie affairs. anyhow use key word The Order movie for "The Order" and http://www.entertheunderworld.com for "Underworld" summer movies are okay but I think the real good ones including "The Last Samurai" happen in the fall\winter months. Miko Reglia
you listed some really good ones, the last samurai looks good except i dont know why they have a white actor (tom cruise) playing a samurai? anyway, dont forget about the other great movies coming out this fall/winter, such as The Matrix: Revolutions, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King... RoguePhotonic
I don't know about the order but I want to see underworld for sure.
ckcsaber
Hmmm.... I don't know about "The Order". It doesn't really interest me, and I can't help laughing at the plot. It seems as if nothing seems to be going well with the Catholic Church nowadays...... "The Last Samurai" looks like it will be very good though, despite the fact that the leading Samurai is not Japanese. Looking back, this past summer had some pretty good movies, but nothing really memorable for me. Fall/Winter seems as if it will kick ass though, with RotK leading my "hype" chart. But looks can be deceiving ::coughcough::matrix reloaded::coughcough::.
swphreak
I can't wait to see Underworld. I love the Blade movies, and I think this could only be cooler with warewolves!!

Darth Eggplant
The Last Samurai has a website I went once, the movie takes place circa end of the shogonate time period when the west was starting to show up in asian countries. i guess Tom Cruise is some white european guy who ends up in japan and has honor and decides to fight for you know the usual. at any rate in a time specific period like this, it is like 16th 17th century i believe, africans have not even been brought over to america, america does not exist with europeans as of yet, so it has to be Tom Cruise. (it could be a lot worse, it could be kevin costner)
Kain
The Last Samurai = Dances With Wolves pt 2 More or less, that is. Underworld looks like it was written by someone at White Wolf Ent.(I.e: In Vampire the Masquerade, Vampires and Werewolves are always at odds), but I've been waiting for a movie like this for awhile...cept the whole lovey dubey deally with that guy lycan and that girl vampire. Lost Welshman
Underworld looks awsome. I like the trailer music aswell, it rocks. If you like it just ask and I'll tell you the name I don't think the Romeo and Juliet plot will bother me that much, it's not as if it's a bad plot. And the fact that it has fighting and wevewolves, sounds cool. This film had better live up to the trailer, if not i'll pee on the wall.
BuRn
believe it or not it makes since. Tom cruise is a retired Colonel from the civil war. he is hired and brought to japan to train the soldiers in "modern" warfare. then ...blah blah....becomes a samurai
Kstar__2
now you just noted 2 movies i want to see though you did not tell hem correctely about the occult there's a website somewhere, with a really spooky trailer, and the movie itself is about "the occult" some wierd group of algemist people. i'm really looking forward to underworld too
toms
last samurai reminds me of some low budget film with christopher lambert as a westerner who learned to become a samurai.... I was hyped about underworld, then i read an interview about it and they said quote "it's definately not buffy!". I think they meant this to be a good thing, but i took it to mean it wasn't going to be clever or witty or well acted and will probably just be a load of bad sfx with a plot that makes no sense like blade 2. Im much more hyped about Kill Bill 1 & 2 than about Last Samurai.

toms
oh, and they edited at least 30 minutes out of the Medallion, which apparently leads to lots of confusion, setups that aren't concluded and conclusions that aren't set up. I think they also re-edited the fight scenes... (as if a US studio knows how to do fight scenes... ) Wonder when the US will stop messing with decent asian films. Of course, i don't think it was one of his best to start with... but why make it worse.
