  1. I think the point is exactly that instead: exporting 3D models to 2D sprites pretty much makes it full 2D (just with a different starting point). What's concerning about a Tiller CMI remake is it could be using real time 3D models. Anyway I also think the same approach used for MI2:SE wouldn't work with CMI, as the art direction was much clearer (not necessarily better) because technology allowed it in the mid 90s, and it would look totally off and in contradiction to its hardcore cartoon roots.
  2. Considering Bill Tiller's latest games, I don't think that's the case. I think he wants to adopt the same approach as in A Vampyre Story, Ghost Pirates and Duke Grabowsky. At least, considering the lack of black outlines and actual 3D models there, it seems to be most likely to me.
  3. Yeah I think you might have misunderstood @ThunderPeel2001, it's 2022 and 3D is great now (even for adventure games!). It doesn't have the technical limitations we were forced to accept 20 years ago, which objectively harmed games that had so much more detail in 2D back then and needed to give that up. I guess we were all referring to a potential 3D take on CMI, which sounds like blasphemy to me, not 3D in general.
  4. I feel you, sadly he'd totally consider a 3D take on one of the best 2D adventure games ever. Not sure why he thinks 3D models over 2D backgrounds merge properly, when it's super clear they just don't mix. It just looks like a 3D character floating over a piece of paper, which in turn has a fantastic background drawn upon, but that's not enough.
  5. Correct, I was just daydreaming for fun but the real chances of this happening are close to zero. Plus they aren't going for pixel art this time, which I recall was something Ron would instead use for a hypothetical MI3a. Still, all the secrecy is weird: while it's true that Ron doesn't feed hype, he often used to share screens or chunks of screens / production material even for personal projects, let alone full games. Something good's cooking.
  6. Well, Ron's Terrible Toybox has been working on a new 2D point and click graphic adventure for a long time now, and kept absolute silence about it. We still don't know what they're doing and, when things get so secret, I might end up raising my hopes.
  7. I got the HashtagCollectibles Max Plushie. Any known differences? Or is that a completely different product? It kinda looks exactly the same, including the tag.
  8. No problem! To be fair I wish I missed this, I remember I spent quite some time obsessively hitting refresh on the Bad Brain homepage for news about Sam&Max FP. You definitely dodged a bullet!
  9. Basically, this guy owned (or was one of the founders, I don't remember exactly) Bad Brain Entertainment, that German company that back in 2004 claimed a lot of promising things and (claimed they) had several graphic adventure games in production, with absolutely 0 concrete results eventually. Jason summed it up pretty well in this Mojo post. Please note the post is more than 5 years old, and in the meantime Bad Brain's website got shut down again and Mr. Kierdorf is focusing on that YouTube channel now.
  10. Tried already with the same outcome 😢 My last hope is trying it on another computer asap. Thank you for all the support, guys!
  11. I'll have to wait a little bit to be able to, which is torture!
  12. Yep that's the error, It'll ask me to format it. I don't have a machine with Linux at reach right now, but I highly doubt it's the issue, since 99% of the players will open this with a Window system.
  13. @Laserschwert Well that's disappointing, I can't seem to read it at all. I'm on Windows 10 so it's not like I messed up a Linux setting. Currently raging.
  14. I'm looking for a way to ensure that I don't corrupt the USB in the remote case my PC has some malware. Will post here as soon as I plug it in.
  15. OK, this is what we were all waiting for anyway I suppose: And everyone's favorite candle holder! There's more stuff but I guess I'll leave the rest as a cliffhanger for the other collectors?
  16. So glad they've removed it! OK, a bunch more before trying to get out the statues and the rest out of the polystyrene. I need to be extra careful.
  17. Don't have a floppy driver anymore, shame on me. Will have to wait. It is, yeah! More stuff:
  18. Glad to, but you'll have to wait until I sign off from work. I'm kinda maniacal for the way I keep relics such as this one, so I need to be extra cautious and not rush it.
  19. I can't believe how freaking massive this thing is! Wasn't expecting it. Here's a MI2 box comparison: I've also received some fancy numbered card with that odd-looking first take of EMI Guybrush. Good times!
  20. I'm leaning towards seriously believing that the so-called Voodoo Priest in MI2 (such an elusive character in the game, not sure why he needs to appear in two cutscenes with a fully animated sprite just to completely disappear later on) was originally El Carlo. The throne bears his mask and it was supposed to be his own "office". @ATMcashpoint thoughts on this?
  21. You worked on it Nano? That's great to hear, can't wait to receive mine
  22. On a side note, will I have the guts to open it? I still have 2 Thimbleweed Park copies shrinkwrapped, surely you can't keep them in a better condition but I feel like I'm missing out a lot this way. End of the OT.
