  1. Jezus Christ! I just wanted this to be over… Eep ook ack! I failed at #Mojole. πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’› πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’› πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ–€ πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€ πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’› https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  2. Really sad to hear this… It would’ve been a dream to see Double Fine tackle more LucasArts remasters. They were done so respectfully to the source material, and so much better than the Monkey Island special editions.
  3. I don’t think this is an adventure gaming alone problem. It’s a pattern that can be seen in people all over the world. I think a lot of people are unhappy and get β€˜lost’ in something (it can be media, but it can also be personal beliefs) so much that it starts to be a point of their identity. (This is a subconsious process.) Once they identify with something, they themselves are attacked when this something (or their vision of it) gets attacked, because to them this something Γs them. This is why there’s so little β€˜agree to disagree’ anymore. People just won’t listen and keep going until a discussion is β€˜won’. I think that’s where a lot of the name calling and death threats you hear about online come from. People feel offended by a different vision, which they bring back to themselves, and with the feeling of powerlessness comes a feeling of agression. In my opinion threatening someone with death is never okay, same as personal violence. There are now writers/creators who face this every day. Do you have any idea what that does to someone’s psyche? It’s really sad to see something beautiful like the internet being abused for this kind of malicious practice. I think it’s a good thing that there is more moderation and there are more laws about internet use being made. The internet isn’t what it was in the 2000’s and it’s become a sort of Wild West populated by childish butthurt people shooting their death threat revolvers around. At the same time I’m grateful for Mixnmojo, (the last social media I have btw,) where the commenters are civil and respectful to each other. Thank you all! I’m sorry for my long rant, it’s a pattern that has me worrying for a long time, and it hurts me to see this happen to Ron.
  4. I second this. This discussion isn’t going anywhere.
  5. This is something that happens more and more. It’s really depressing what fandom has become… Toxic fandom is really destroying creative processes. This is why many wise development companies (like Nintendo) never really listen to fans. When they do it becomes a sliding slope.
  6. I agree with you on the shadow work in that one image. It’s hard to see where the light comes from. I think though that if they removed the hard drop shadows of the church and prison or made them a bit softer, it would be much nicer on the eyes.
  7. By freaks you mean molemen. πŸ‘• I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€ πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€ πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  8. I love the artwork you’re referring to, but these assumptions are very farfetched. Different designers and project means different direction. Going by what you’re saying it’s a wonder The Dig and Full Throttle didn’t look like Looney Tunes cartoons.
  9. I agree with you there. As a kid I never wanted to use a walkthrough*, because I’d never be able to figure out that puzzle by myself again. But when I was stuck for a long time, eventually I’d still use a walkthrough, although I always felt bad about it. If a good hint system would’ve been in place, I probably could have figured it out by myself. (On the other hand, I’d more easily have used it, and I wouldn’t have been as proud of the puzzles I did solve by myself. Two sides to a coin I guess.) Anyway, I think the Thimbleweed Park way was great, and no, I never used it. 😎 * When I was young I bought a β€œPC Gamers Cheat Codes book”, which came with a cd-rom on which were walkthroughs of about every Adventure Game that was released up until that point.
  10. I would never pay a scalper for something I really want. When I see ads for scalped items, I always have to convince myself to not leave a nasty message to the person selling. They’re really the scum (one M) of the internet.
  11. Great one! Loved the difficulty! πŸ‘• I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ–€ πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’šπŸ–€πŸ’› πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ–€ πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  12. Haven’t hints always been a part of Adventure Games though? Characters will always give you some clue of what to do, and if they don’t the playable character will. It was just a matter of how much information did the game designer want you to have. It just seems that in later years, hints had to me more clearfully be marked as hints, and there needed to be much, much more, because games were getting more mainstream and the market got more and more flooded. In most cases I can imagine them being more of a publishers fear of people moving over to the next game then a designers choice.
  13. It was always Wally Wingert. We can’t agree on such things, and I think it’s a really good thing that a fan community can’t decide something like that. Let’s see what Ron does with it.
  14. Far……………….fetched! πŸ‘• I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 5/6 πŸ’šπŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€ πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’› πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  15. Not a problem! And honestly, I’m a bit relieved. I think a Star Wars parody wasn’t that clever even back then, but in this day and age it’s just painful…
  16. Fair and clean… and finished! πŸ‘• I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 5/6 πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’› πŸ’šπŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’› πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  17. Alright, since we've got room to dream... Yes! I would love to see Freelance Police uncancelled and finished! I wouldn't even mind the dated graphics! I was so looking forward to that game in the early 2000's! And it was such a bummer when they axed it! Get Moriarty back, but don't let him work on Loom until he finishes his version of the Dig. I would love to see what he made of it. (The digital antiquarian did a remarkable essay on the development, which was mentioned on the Mixnmojo front page!) I'm not bent on seeing sequels to Maniac Mansion or Grim Fandango, but would rather see more unique adventure games coming from the studio. Remember, they only made the old games cause they had to make new IP's, because Star Wars was off limits! Let's see what they can make without milking the old stuff! (There's too much milking going on anyway...)
  18. I think at the moment, the most likely thing we'll get is A: a Tales of Monkey Island remaster by Skunkape, and B: A Curse of Monkey Island remake by Bill Tiller. A, because if I was Skunkape, I'd strike while the iron is hot. B, because Bill Tiller has given hints in the past that this is something he might consider doing, and maybe Disney is listening now. Maybe if these things prove to be succesful, there might be a slight chance of a LucasArts adventure renaissance, though it's still pretty unlikely.
  19. This… this is utterly furiating… Eep ook ack! I failed at #Mojole. πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’› πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’› πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’› πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’šπŸ’š https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  20. I replayed part 1 and 2 last year and I can’t remember anything being said about a sister in the tunnels.
  21. If that’s gonna be another Star Wars β€œparody”, with Elaine being the sister, I’ll be surely dissapointed.
  22. Phew! I was sweating bullets, but I got it!! πŸ‘• I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 6/6 πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€ πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’šπŸ–€ πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ–€ πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ–€ πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  23. I'm sure it has more to do with building a hype than being worried about a backlash. That's the usual way games and movies are introduced. First you give a tease, revealing nothing of importance, then as the release date nears you slowly start to reveal things that are more relevant to the plot. Of course some people will like the new art style, others will hate it, others will start to hate it but learn to love it and vice versa. Anyway, in the interview with adventuregamers, Ron had this to say about the art style: So don't worry, I'm sure Guybrush won't look the way he does in that sketch.
  24. I’m hoping for a release window and a screenshot of Guybrush this week!
  25. Whoohoo! A word even I could guess! πŸ‘• I beat #Mojole and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 4/6 πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’š πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’š πŸ–€πŸ’šπŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ’š πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
