  1. We did review it: https://mixnmojo.com/features/reviews/Mata-Hari
  2. The numbers are about the same as the ones we got on Twitter. Take into account that some of the negative votes come from randos showing us snowflakes what's what, and I'd say the vast majority is a-OK with what we've seen so far.
  3. Sounds about right. I mean, I don't know if that's what they mean, but that's what Devolver means.
  4. Without the logo it makes for a good Lock Screen background, too.
  5. Two things that may or may not have already been said, as I've lost track of this thread. 1) One scene is near identical to a piece of concept art (that I can't find right now) from the cancelled movie. 2) The "Marley Foundation" -- whatever it is, it gives me strong MI1 vibes.
  6. Well, it is for Mojo, so clearly it’s for excellence.
  7. They're referenced as Cheese Squigglies -- the non-copyrighted cheese treat also seen in Putt-Putt Saves The Zoo. (I was researching if it was an actual brand, but it doesn't look like it.) Related, the crackers found around Dinky are, going by the inventory, likely modeled after Saltines.
  8. I was trying to figure that one out and concluded it was the same thing pigs eat. So more edible than IHOP in other words.
  9. This is research for a future Mojo feature, and thus of the utmost importance: I'm trying to compile a list of real-world food items referenced in the first two Monkey Island games. Specifically brands -- Cap'n Crunch, Cheetos, etc. -- and actual dishes, like vichyssoise. I'm not doing anything with beverages (Shirley Temple is out) but something like root beer float (referenced by the cannibals) is fair game. Also, I'm limiting this to MI1 and MI2 for reasons that are completely unrelated to laziness. My short list so far: MI1 Cap'n Crunch Root beer float Carrot cake Rump roast Red herring Breath mints MI2 Cheetos Vichyssoise Toasted marshmallows/cotton Weenies Fruit cocktail Saltines Contribute, and you will be rewarded with... well, you just have to wait and see.
  10. The part where Ben started strangling Mo was a bold design choice.
  11. It’s not for nothing you posted this under unpopular opinions, of course.
  12. Two against one, you lose. ;
  13. li·bel (lī′bəl) n. The legally indefensible publication or broadcast of words or images that are degrading to a person or injurious to his or her reputation.
  14. That was literally the number I had in mind. Of course, with my track record there will be no trailer and the game will be cancelled released right around page 157, mind you.
  15. That guy looks like he's being forced to stand infront of the poster at gunpoint. 😒

  17. This might be outdated by now — particularly with the Mac architecture shift — but I did write up some steps back in the day: https://mixnmojo.com/features/sitefeatures/Running-GOG-Escape-from-Monkey-Island-under-Wine-on-macOS I believe some people had sound issues with those steps while others didn’t.
  18. Yet, still… three tries. 🤔
  19. The number of attempts were very apropos, though.
  20. Fun fact about The Secret of Treasure Island — the original story was written by L. Ron Hubbard. Which makes me deeply meditate on the “inspiration” part.
  21. Ronzo is a big Switch fan, so I would assume it would at least eventually make its way there. And if the Delores demo is anything to go by -- and who knows if it is or not -- Mac and Linux seem plausible. Or I could be as wrong as I was about the trailer and it'll be a Windows exclusive. 🤷‍♂️
