Pfft, at least you have a sister who plays Mass Effect. My sister wouldn't come a mile near a video game.
The price itself is about $100 American, it'd be marked up to approx upto $150. I do know a local dealer who'd probably sell it for the more accurate $100-ish. But in any case, I'm really glad ATi announced the card, I was afraid I was going to have to get the slightly more expensive 5770, which has been marked up to about $200+ here. >:/

Ah yes, my glorious new computer can play every game out there, just not at the best settings. >_> Still, I'm proud of my setup, and all I need is a new graphics card, maybe some extra RAM (already have 2 gigs), and a new power box to support all that load. I have my eyes on the ATi Radeon HD 5670, looks like a marvelous little card for its price. Unforunately, the prices are always marked up here. Oh well, I suppose you can't download everything. >_> <_<
Still, it plays Dragon Age, Modern Warfare 2 and Burnout Paradise quite well, so I'm good with those. Borderlands runs great too, but I have to sacrifice the resolution and get a very pixelated, but very smooth output. I'm also holding off playing games like BioShock and Crysis, because I need to experience them in FULL EFFECT.
Them HDDs are turning out to be mighty unreliable lately, I've heard of quite a few failures. So you're more of a console gamer then?

I'm doing alright. Just got my hard drive replaced and am now filling it with games obtained from... questionable sources. >_>
Speaking of sarcasm punctuation, behold this. I am so going to use it now.

The wouldn't exactly be a very elegant way to end a sarcastic post, would it? You is too paranoid!

Way to go, veering the Avatar thread from boring movie reviewing to intellectual discourse on the spread of languages, theorisation of the expanse of film industries and cultural growth in the industrial era.

Your new Avatar is AWESOME even though it isn't 3D!
...the capitalisation gave it away, didn't it?

Brave New World is lovely. I especially love the orgy-porgy bits. We need to organise some of that in LF ourselves. >_>
I've read several arguments against Huxley's vision in BNW, and it's very interesting, actually.

Merry Christmas, my leng lui sister!
I watched this Korean movie called "I'm a Cyborg but it's OK", well-recommended, comedy with a strong romantic flavouring.

Speaking of wrestling, have you seen Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler? I highly recommend it. Aronofsky is one of my favourite directors, and the movie is very beautiful.
-
Nah, I wasn't into wrestling much. I was quite opposed to it as a matter of fact, we only got WCW early on and maybe WWF. Then later in 2002, this new channel popped up and they had the rights for WWF (which turned WWE the next month) and I was watching one bored afternoon and I sort of got hooked. Then it became a trend in school, alongside Pokemon (which also started airing the same year), and 'twas a good time. I can't remember when I quit, but it was probably early-to-mid 2004, as I'd grown disillusioned with by gimmicks and childishness of it all.
I'd like to have watched some of those extreme matches, but they probably wouldn't get past Indian censors. Besides, I've found violent movies more entertaining now.

It's a meme we borrowed from the official Obsidian forums. Not too shabby, if you ask me.

I'm guessing those are New Zealand dollars. Also, the prices sound about right, My finished computer came for $787 New Zealandian, (remember, no graphics card yet). Games here retail for 2000 Indian bucks, which would mean somewhere around 40-80 New Zealandian dollars, so yes, prices are going down.
But if we're to follow the general trend, prices here are general higher than in the US, due to import costs.
