I just remembered Blood Island has that LaFoot guy, making this potentially a bizarre musical reference in a game that doesn’t use the classic SCUMM Bar or other Melee and Monkey Island themes.

Haha yeah that first section wasn’t familiar to me at all either. I will not be posting my result.

I noticed during my recent CMI expedition that there’s quite a lot of that in the game. Guybrush varies from a bit odd to downright demented-looking during his ‘special case’ in-game animations — grabbing Murray with the hook, stuff like that. Stuff you likely wouldn’t have much noticed on the 5cm large screens of the day.

Frankly, I think Return added a lot of confusion to this topic. The perspective seen is nothing more than misdirection.

Regarding the CRT filter, doing this via the web could be a challenging project if someone hasn’t already built it, but you could just take a second set of screenshots via something like ShaderGlass on the desktop. It would be a one-off pain but then would allow for easy viewing on any device. Perhaps an on/off setting next to the pictures. This is obviously getting quite ambitious but could be iterated on over time, and Mojo has plenty of people who are good at this sort of thing. I have let my best people (Remi) know about the potential interest in hosting and/or implementation.

Yes, no disagreement there. I think you have two purposes really: 1. A comprehensive, self-contained, and easily copied artefact that contains as much of the content as possible with minimal if any loss of quality — the real archivist’s resource 2. A more explorative museum-style experience for people to dip into and enjoy, who aren’t so much interested in the archival itself and just want to look at it and it be presented in an engaging way I think your PDFs suit #1 well, while for #2 it’s good to have things like the Mastodon bot, and an attractively structured and presented website that works well on phones as casual browsers are akin to use. Or better yet, print then all out and put them in the exhibition hall! 😅
